Well, you sure have blown up the board with a lot of stuff, first in one direction, then another. I don't know what to think, but keeping bullshite to a minimum, at least on this board right now, would seem to be the prudent move.

Sorry, you seem to have gone haywire today. Gus has been #1 and Norvell as the backup plan, you've been on that for a while. Suddenly this afternoon, it's Venables and Strong comes out of nowhere as the guy for the GOBN. Nobody really believes Strong is the good ole boys guy do they?

Sorry if I've offended, you just went a little wonky IMO.

Hearing more noise about Chad Morris.

Saying he knocked the interview out of the park, He apparently has a huge network in Texas and around the SE and that is appealing to us. Very respected by coaches, college and high school.

Hearing Norvell did very well also, there is some concern about him putting together a top shelf staff.

I’d be cool with either one honestly.

I’m not on other boards but these guys are on Rivals. These are fraternity brothers from college in Memphis that are decently “connected”.

FWIW of course. Just passing along the noise I’m hearing.

Not flaked out as much as gone off the deep end, coocoo for Venables.

Like I said in another thread - I think people see 'sources' and think of it in journalist/reporter terms, where the source is vetted and going on the record with his/her info. Reality in this situation is that unless your source is THE men & women making the hire first hand it's just info they've heard making the rounds as well. They're friends, family, and acquaintances that just happen to be in high places but still love discussing the Hogs and are fans just like we are.

I don't talk to them about what's going on to come report it here or somewhere else, I talk to them because that's what friends and family do. There's a reason news stories and articles are often retracted and edited even WITH properly vetted sources going on the record, and thats because things can and will change in the blink of an eye. I'd still rather us all share what we're hearing, even if it's in a million different directions, than sit here in silence waiting.

Why would anyone be mad or upset with you Rev? You're the man here.

Tomorrow is what they’re saying.

CBS reporting a 3rd candidate but it’s being kept under wraps.

Must be Chuck.

I'm changing my official prediction to Morris. I've seen his name thrown out tonight more than I've seen throughout the process. Between this post and local media.

3rd guy sounds like Kiffin. Confirmed he interviewed but many are torn on him as expected.

Jerry Jones pushing for Morris hard.

I want Kiffin out of all of the names that have been thrown around, but honestly, a big name out of left field is what would be best at this point.

What can I say? The dude loves to mettle.

Lots of information comes out of that Dallas crew. Granddaughter is our age and works for the Boys, along with Franks as well.

Mouths are pretty big down there.

Yea not sure on that. Feel like a left field big name is probably slim chances without Jeff Long around.

Morris, Norvell and Kiffin seem logical to me.

I would be pretty disappointed with Morris, any candidate you have to convince the masses of being a good hire most likely isn't. I hope his name is picking up steam for no reason, but it sure is everywhere right now.

How come?

He’s turned around a dumpster fire and has the credentials.

Should be able to recruit the heck out of Texas..

Norvell took over a 9 win team after all..

thanks for the kid words folks...

Kiffen or Norvell for me...

on Norvell...

Mike Norvell was a WR at UCA prior to going to Tulsa for 4 years, then leaving to Pittsburgh to be the co offensive coordinator, leaving the next year to Arizona State to be Offensive Coordinator and QB Coach leading top 40 offenses for 4 consecutive years, He accepted the Memphis program in 16 and reaching the ACC title game for the 1st time ever. Strong recruiter, signing the two highest rated classes in program history. Known as a QB Developer turning 3 star prospect out of HS, Riley Ferguson into a prolific Qback.
