It's great that they have deep pockets in College Station. Really cool....But this contract to Jimbo just reeks of desperation. The program has two 10-win seasons in the last 23 seasons....

Spend $500MM on a stadium that sits half empty.
Spend $10MM to make Sumlin go away + whatever they wasted on him the last several years.
Spend whatever they paid 3rd and Chavis (north of $1mm+ for a few years) to give up 1,000 yards of offense to their big bro in the last two games.

Jimbo is going to need to win and win fast. If he doesn't, AnM is going to be the guy at the Men's Grill at the country club that talks about all the ex-wives he owes money too

I'll bite. Who should we have hired instead?

Kept sumlin, the one who had a worse season every single year and needed a heisman trophy winner just to sniff 10 wins?

How could we have avoided this stink of desperation?

they just pulled in a coach that Texas and Lsu couldn't reel in. if anything, Texas and Lsu should be embarrassed.

the ags have the money to do this, so you shouldn't waste your time crunching numbers when it really doesn't matter.

also, isn't this the second NC winning coach to turn lsu down in the last decade for a school in the same division? shouldn't lsu be embarrassed for not wanting to win?

Not really knocking the hiring of Jimbo, just questioning the outrageous contract. I get it, you aren't getting Jimbo with that contract, but Jimbo is going to win 8/9 games at AnM, maybe have a run one year and get 10 and be in playoff contention, but I think AnM can find a coach to do that without paying $75MM over a decade. It's Texas. There is talent there. Y'all already have the facilities. There are more than 5 good coaches in the country capable of leading teams...

The butt hurt from LSU fans is as good as the Tenn coaching search. Your fan base is the most insecure group of people I have ever seen

This is just trolling and sour grapes. You hired the right guy. I would love to see Jimbo in purple and gold again.

And Florida fans boo’d during a Tom Petty song.

Such a fricked up thing to do.

RIP Tom

So I guess if you have the money, you jus throw it around like nothing. Keep making bad investments and these money men at AnM are going to stop opening their checkbooks.

No, not really. We are a bowl game win away from 10 wins. I don't think paying Jimbo $7.5Mm this year would have changed that result

I never imagined LSU fans being so spurned about Jimbo choosing ATM over them.....
