How could we have avoided this stink of desperation?

There are a lot of coaches out there that they could have made good offers too without throwing Ft Knox at a guy who builds teams around one player.

So I guess if you have the money, you jus throw it around like nothing.

I’m not sure that’s accurate; but yeah, money will definitely be spent on getting better.
That’s LONG been the goal of the PsTB at Texas A&M.
And if Fisher doesn’t work out, we’ll more than likely shell-out bucks for the remainder of his contract, then spend more cash on hiring someone else.
I’ve been shocked today, seeing that that fact bothers some people, but it’s just the way it is.

You are an idiot. Your disrespectful piece of shite band director played during the tribute because he is a direct representation of the worst, most backwoods group of poorly educated group of people in Cfb.

They should be embarrassed.

The contract is pretty close to insane, imo.

who cares? it's their money. unless you want to live in a society where other people tell you that you can't spend your money on legal things.

No, not really. We are a bowl game win away from 10 wins. I don't think paying Jimbo $7.5Mm this year would have changed that result

so if it's about the money, again, why do you care? sorry jimbo turned lsu down.

They basically paid 100M for one extra win per season. Shouldn’t be shocked really, they always overpay for mediocrity.

I just don’t get why Florida fans would boo a man from Gainesville who had just passed away.

It’s not like he named Flippy Franks the starter.

Hold up while I go turn on some Petty.

We may have overpaid. We may be a little desperate. But you have to give us props. When we swing for the fences - we get our man..unlike whom the OP represents.

Jackie from Pitt. Cut short due to scandals.
Fran - unmitigated disaster
Jimbo - TBD

But we don’t let our coaching searches look like a clusterfrick.

Try not to compare your attendance or the amount of no-shows to ours. It’s laughable that LSU couldn’t sell out a night game versus A&M. We had a worse record and far less no shows throughout the year.

Lol ok man, you're really trying to push your communist joke.

I don't care what they do with their money, I'm simply asking why pay that much for, at BEST, a 10 win season? It isn't a smart financial decision, no matter how much money you have. It makes you look stupid and desperate, which was my theme of the thread.

I don't expect a woopig to pick up on themes or have strong reading comprehension though so no biggie

Absolutely. Congrats.

Well when you are always just above average, I could see why fans would keep going to games. You obviously think that you will eventually break through. Unfortunately it hasn't happened for you. LSU fans have been spoiled with 10 win seasons, SEC championships, and a few National titles (yes, albeit a long time ago). They take them for granted and think that they are a given. Just like Aggies think that paying Jimbo 75mm and $1/2mm+ per assistant will automatically result in SEC West championships, SEC title appearances, and playoff runs.

I have yet to see one LSU fan say that aggie CAN'T spend their money on Fisher.

What I have seen is a lot criticism over HOW they are spending their money.

Sorry you can't see the difference between the two.

Why should they be embarrassed? Are you one of those class-warfare types?

It's their money and they're not breaking the bank doing this stuff...

frick off gator! LSU has traditions that predate some knee-jerk, half arse, jort wearing bitches trying to sing along on a song they do not even know! A call from your AD department to ours and I am sure it would have worked out. Tiger Band would have been more than happy to help out.

but we dont know that yet, and how much money you have directly effects the decision. if they had 100 trillion, what's 75 million?

nice ad hominem. your theme would make sense if lsu literally didn't just try to hire the same person last year.

dude hasn't even coached a game yet. all the predetermined criticism just comes off as insecurity and sour grapes. if he wins 10 ncs, it would be a really smart investment.
