I think it needs to be decided on soon. Are we going to run RPO or keep trying weird play action long developing plays.

It's clear our OL struggles and our QB misses some open WR.

We seem to roll people when we run wide with Harris and Jacobs, opens the middle as well, and do quick and intermediate passes.

If we don't decide what we are trying to be it will be much of the same if we make it to the playoff or whatever bowl.

This starts with the OC. This is just the truth of the matter, the QB thing won't matter until this is figured out.

Agree, should have been way earlier. Seems when we switch to straight RPO we roll well.

We may very well be in the playoff, need to get ready.

Maybe we could give the ball to DH and JH more and BoScar less.

And come up with some timing pass plays and slants.

Sounds good. The Bo screen was perfect for DH or JJ. Blows my mind.

We won titles with a pro style offense. We haven’t won one since we’ve made the change. Maybe coincidence, maybe not.

even on the TD pass to Jeudy, the slow stuff looked awkward. Jacobs looked like "WTF can I do?" on that play. I know he was to pass pro, but AU wasn't fooled and thank goodness JJ out jumped AU's concussion protocol DB.

I don't think it matters what kind of offense you have as long as it is efficient.

We aren't efficient in big games because our QB isn't efficient in big games. Its as simple as that.

That’s because he has limited ability. That ability is limited to dropping back and running the football.

It's pretty simple. We need to run the offense he excels in and stop trying to be proactive style. Our team does well when we go fast and use our better backs. Maybe I'm the only one who sees it.

I disagree. I think if we go in this direction we end up with our own version of jt Barrett and win 11-12 games per year without taking home any real hardware.

Good point. Keep Hurts as starter and he's here for four seasons but you won't win it all because the guy is at his ceiling.

But you can win it all it comes down to a few plays and he needs to be put into a position to excel IMO.

Edit: I see what you're saying but this mis match stuff has to stop, we create no momentum and it's obvious the RPO works with our athletes.

Alabama's offense was no more pro style in 2015 than it is now.

Do we have a check down built into these pass plays?

I honestly don't feel he's good enough to overcome the play calling I've been seeing though.

we can't get any consistency in the running game because there is none by design. And without consistency there we just fall right back into the trap of needing hurts to do more than he's capable of.

Just from what I can tell and I'm no expert when we run wide in an RPO style, hit the middle some, and throw intermediate passes. We look outstanding. We then go into this empty set and single back formation which hasn't seemed to work. It seems like we are flirting the like with what to be. Hell I'll take the 1 read and run if it's working at this point.
