Familiar name, one of the usual suspects.
Presser ends with minor announcement of Bert's dismissal.

Damn, whatever they paid that committee it wasn't enough. Or too much? I guess it depends how you look at it.

How does a person land one of those committee gigs?
I know names to toss in the hat too. They'd only have to pay me 100 dollars.

Scanlon, Varady or Trainor.
Rumor is that it's Scanlon's job if he wants it. He'd be my first choice among the non-traditional AD candidates.

Didn't they just form that committee yesterday? And isn't today thanksgiving?

Someone on another forum said that Scanlon notified folks that he was leaving his job to take the AD position.

Would be an excellent choice.

It's kinda funny though considering they were saying Long's problem was he was an unemotional bean counter.
Scanlon is exactly a professional bean counter. Lol

Seems like this wouldn’t be true considering WholeHog just ran an interview with some folks on the committee today and it didn’t sound like a decision would be coming anytime soon. Information seems to be all over the place on this one.

Maybe the Scanlon deal came together faster than expected
If it did get decided this fast, they picked someone that would be an easy hire. Likely someone local. Scanlon would fit that.

Yeah Scanlon and Long are very similar.
Except for that whole former Razorback quarterback angle, and the fact he’s lived in the state for almost 40 years, and the fact that he’s extremely tight with one of our wealthiest and most influential boosters.
But yeah, aside from all that, they’re similar.
