Not 4 best conference champions. So how do you even have teams like UCF , Memphis and even LSU in the playoffs poll? Name a REALISTIC scenario where committee wouldn’t find 4 better teams than these? Should the poll just be the top 4 each week?

LOL ,no.

They shouldn’t release a poll at all until either conference championship week or the Sunday after

They do a top 25 because fans and the media like polls.
I guarantee you they spend very little time on anything outside the top 10-15.

Terrible idea because they want to provide transparency into their rankings and weekly rankings do just that. It shows you how they weigh various factors up to that point in the season.

Actually, the committee now says the best resume' or some shite but technically, Yes, it's supposed to be the 4 best teams. I guess, who knows what the criteria will be this week.

Tell that to TCU....
Eta: if your #1 criteria is a conference champion, why in the hell have a poll until that is completed? What happens to ND this year when they don’t win a conference championship game....

That's not their #1 criteria. There is no #1 criteria.
They list what their criteria are and it's several things taken in their totality.

Tbh we should just stay with the normal polls until after championship Saturday, as another poll is just fodder for discussion and maybe this year, to troll Alabama.

They make the pairings for all 6 of the New Year's Bowls.
Selection Committee Responsibilities
Rank the top 25 teams and assign the top four to semifinal sites.
Assign teams to New Year’s bowls.
Create competitive matchups.
Attempt to avoid rematches of regular-season games and repeat appearances in specific bowls.
Consider geography.
Participants in the New Year’s Bowls
Both participants in the Orange, Rose and Sugar Bowls are contracted outside the playoff arrangement (Big Ten and Pac-12 to Rose Bowl; SEC and Big 12 to Sugar Bowl; ACC to Orange Bowl against the highest ranked available team from the SEC, Big Ten and Notre Dame). If a conference champion qualifies for the playoff, then the bowl will choose a replacement from that conference. When those bowls host the semifinals and their contracted conference champions do not qualify, then the displaced champion(s) will play in one of the other New Year’s bowls.
When not hosting semifinals, the Cotton, Fiesta and Peach Bowls will welcome displaced conference champions and the top-ranked champion from a non-contract conference. The highest-ranked available teams will fill any other berths. The selection committee will make the pairings.

It's not the #1 criteria. It is only one of several criteria considered if/when there is very little separation between teams.

Just like the bcs it should be the most deserving teams. Best is such a subjective term it's foolish to try to determine.

Did you really just try to push LSU into the top 4. Jesus. Your fans are just insane. I feel like I have to repeat this every day now on the rant.
LSU fan(s) are the stupidest fans in the country.

If you're referring to 2014, Baylor won the Big 12 that year. People always forget that.
