I now count 8 NFL starters..

Collins, Henry, Swanson, Philon, Spaight, Wise, Flowers and Derby.
That's not even counting Williams who should by all accounts, get on the field sooner or later.
All played at the same time if I'm not mistaken.
Jesus, what a let down.
Does Bama or LSU have more than that from one year's team?

Ya honestly the more time passes the more we see how much he wasted talent on these teams.

Swanson wasn't on the 14 team, which had Derby at TE instead of QB
Those are all solid to very very good nfl starters.... It's incredible... Just incredible... That Team had BOTH Henry and Derby at TE as well as Sprinkle, Morgan, Cornelius, and Hatcher.
With a competent coach, that's a 10-11 win team that should've pushed for the Western Division title...
Dint know which team had more wasted talent, 2006 or 2014...
Anyone that ever says ... Yeah but we can't get elite talent at Arkansas should just look at those rosters.. No, it won't happen Every single year, but about every 3 or 4 yrs, we should have incredible, underlooked, nfl talent on the roster and should be in tbe mix for the West down to the wire.

That’s not even including guys like Morgan, Sprinkle, Hatcher, and even Ragnow who were underclassmen and/or came on later. It’s beyond comprehension that the 2014 team went 6-6 and 2-6 in the SEC.
A half decent coach would have won 10 games with that squad.

Don't forget 2015; that was a pretty solid bed shite too.

2014 absolutely had more wasted talent. We won 10 games in 2006 and were a Reggie Fish muffed punt away from winning an SEC Championship, and we did it all essentially without a functioning QB. I wouldn’t call that wasted talent.
2014 won 6 games and beat one of the worst Texas teams in history.

How many touches would Darren McFadden and Felix Jones average per game under this coaching staff? I say less than fifteen combined.

Where did you see that Williams is about to start getting carries?
Derby and Spaight aren't starters. Spaight barely plays.
Please post facts.

Probably had the best Arkansas defense since joining the sec also... At least a toss up with 2006.
In hindsight the Bama starters from that year was just about equal to ours from an NFL standpoint.
Aside from Amari Cooper, their offensive weapons were Blake Sims at QB, OJ Howard at TE, and Derek He ry and TJ Yeldon at RB.
Collins and Williams are just about a wash with those RBs looking back.
Our OLine was probably about a wash or better with Bama's also. We had Skipper, Ragnow, Kirkland, and Tretola all starting. Of course they were all about 15 lbs too heavy as well.
Bama D was probably deeper than ours but our top end talent was probably better with Flowers and Wise.
They had a bunch of mashers like Jonathan Allen and A'Shawn Robinson, but we clearly had a much more explosive D-line.
At safety they had us beat pretty handedly with Landon Collins, and corner too.
Looking back the starting 22 is not very far apart from each other. Hell, we might've even been slightly better.
... It's clear that 1 point loss to Bama and the absolute destruction of LSU was that teams actual identify... Not the anomaly.

I had almost forgotten about the Casey Dick years...
I will never.... Ever forget his LSU stat line that year... 3-17, 29 yds..... 1.7 QBR
... It is still the worst QB performance in college I have ever seen. It is also the most depressed I ever was after an in-person game... I couldn't move to leave the game... I just stared into the distance as LSU walked off the field victorious when we essentially dominated them...combine that game with Fish muff and the disaster that was the Cap 1 bowl... Wow...

This coach would have McFadden playing middle linebacker and Felix Jones would be a slot receiver/4th string running back.
He doesn't "know how" to get Hammonds touches and every other football team on Earth would literally just have the QB hand him the ball. Put it right in his belly.
This same dude has a defensive lineman standout recruit playing left guard, an All American offensive lineman playing behind a blue shirt walk-on, and routinely suspends his best players for being one minute late to team breakfasts, and sets his players' target weights about 15 pounds higher than they end up playing in the pros.
To make a long story short, that's how you squander talent on a mass scale.

Bret's fecal touch is pretty astounding. Remember how underwhelming Deatrich Wise was in 2015 and 2016? He's now the starter for the best, most we'll run organization in the NFL.

Nutt had those rare years and competed for the SEC a few times at least.

Just think, we had Darren McFadden, Felix Jones, Peyton Hillis, and Michael Smith all in the backfield in 2005, 2006, and 2007. Crazy how much RB talent Nutt had piled up.

I don't think Philon is either but still, that team had a ton of wasted talent. The sad thing is even if we had the kicker we have this year over Hedlund we probably win a few more games that year with all the close losses.

I thought Washington's starting LB was injured early in the season and Spaight has been starting.

I’d hardly call Philon and Spaight “wasted” talent since our defense was incredible when they were here.

Philon is behind bosa, but he plays a bunch of snaps as the #2. In fact I listened to him sack a qb twice on the radio while i was driving around last sunday.

They have both started this year. Guess you missed the game where Spaight was killing it on MNF and Gruden was all over his nuts.
I was referring to Williams making a big splash in pre-season until he randomly got cut. It was one of the most surprising cuts of the pre-season.
arse.

Felix would’ve been a slot receiver with minimal PT, McFadden would’ve been converted to LB, and Hillis would’ve been a backup TE and caught a ball once every few games.
Say what you want about Nutt, but he wasn’t stupid enough to use McFadden at safety.
Another thing that pisses me off about Bert is the ridiculous attempts to prove he’s “old school” and a disciplinarian. Suspending Sosa for a half, not playing Hammonds, guys like Martin and Pettway always being in the doghouse, pulling Collins for several series back in the day because of a fumble. I rewatched the 2015 LSU game a few weeks ago, and Collins got pulled for a series or two in the first quarter of that game because he fumbled and Bert decided to punish him (Blackledge and Nessler even mention it on the telecast). Bert inserts Kody Walker, who proceeds to run into the line over and over again. Keep in mind that this was the year that we lost both JWill and Rawleigh to injury and were paper thin at tailback, and our dumbass coach decides to prove a point to our All-SEC tailback during a night game in Death Valley.
