Did he really say that it was ok for Wisconsin to schedule BYU, because they couldn't forsee that BYU would be so bad, but criticize Alabama when they scheduled FSU?

In a typical year, which game would be tougher? BYU at BYU, or FSU at a neutral site? Give me BYU at BYU every time.

Not going to bother clicking the link.

That said, the logic in scheduling a top 5 team that we had no way of knowing would tank so that we had the "weakest" schedule?

I guess Alabama employs psychics now too.

Yes, he did say that. He seriously said that.

WTF does convenience have to do with this arguement?

No SEC team should ever play less than 2 P5 OOC every year and have no more than 7 home games

the premise of this thread is a bunch of BS. Bama, on paper, prior to now, had a pretty damn good OOC schedule.

This summbitch is almost as big a troll as Danny Kanell. Everyone knows that schedules are often made 6-8-10 years in advance. If everyone was truthful with themselves, they could go back and look and see where at least 1 or 2 home and home series was cancelled and then a school was left to scrounge up someone to fill that slot.
BAMA had series with Michigan State and Ga Tech to get cancelled, filled those games with a Fresno State and Colorado State type school. Auburn had an F$U series cancelled, filled in with some other school that no fan wanted to see. As someone stated earlier, LSU has a couple of big series lined up in the next 8-10 years. A coaching change or something else may possibly lead to those getting cancelled.
These neutral site, Kickoff Classic, games are played for 2 reasons, MONEY and RECRUITING!! Each school guaranteed in excess of what they would make in a home weekend and they get to invite a shitload of recruits to the game and it not put the families out so much $, since the game is closer to them and they don't have to travel as far.

So,when exactly is he gonna start playing them?

Ok.....that's a conversation worth having. But it has nothing to do with labeling a schedule that includes a preseason Top 5 team on it (as well as 1 of the top G5 teams) as "actively planned to be atrocious".

You're not missing much, he said the committee is giving Bama the benefit of the doubt and isn't punishing them for their SOS like they did with Wisconsin. But the weird thing is Klatt didn't have Wisconsin in his top 6 mock playoff poll or his personal poll...Bama was #1 in both.

I agree with 2 P5 teams. I also agree that playing neutral site games every year sucks (the idea that playing a road game against anybody > playing a Top 10 team at a neutral site is silly, but I'd rather not play neutrals every year).

In my perfect world we play H/H every year with some P5 and a big neutral site game every 2-3 years.

Wisconsin's best win is northwestern, and it drops from there. Bama's best win is A&M with fresno behind that. There isnt a whole lot for either to brag about, but some one loss teams are going to be put in front of some no loss teams and bama deserves to be ahead of the one lossers well before wisky

Think he's talking more about neutral site games and no home and homes?

Idk it's a video, can't watch that shite at work.

Well what about florida?

When's the last time they traveled above Florida for a Non Conf away game?

If that's the easiest way to schedule a P5 than I don't have much of a problem with it.

The logistics and contracts of a P5 home and home can be daunting

I will never understand the obsession with Bama playing neutral site games to open the season. Is it just trying to find a way to knock Bama?

Are you really this stupid? Both teams have to be willing to play. I would imagine not many P5 teams at the moment are willing to come play a game in Bryant Denny Stadium against Bama. But yes scheduling is so easy for the internet fan who has no idea what it takes to actually put it together.

It is, and I don't have a problem with it generally. But playing them every year in lieu of H/H games sucks.

How exactly does he schedule an extra SEC game. You think any of the East teams want to add that to their schedule?
