We won the next 2 games by a score of 86-16.

Seemed to work out ok.

This doesn't make any sense. Seems like their must have been another point he was trying to make.

Saban isn't Gus and acts like he has any game wrapped up, especially one that is 2 weeks away.

He said they use the first half of the bye week to scout and plan the rest of the regular season, not just the next game.

He said they don't use all 2 weeks on LSU prep for players because they like to keep the routine the same and not oversaturate them.

I can see his point. Lets work on the obvious issues highlighted from last game or a continued problem, then move toward focusing on exploiting LSU weaknesses.

As a homer, very few to exploit! LSU by 3

Most teams probably spend the first few days of the weeks of a bye looking at the rest of their opponents or tweaking general issues before diving into the post bye opponent.

Bama's 2nd team vs. LSU would be a better game than Bama's ones vs LSU

I wonder if that would be the process if Alabama wasn't in the drivers seat. For instance, was this the process leading up to the 2011 or 2015 games? Genuinely curious as I hadn't heard that before.

This would be in line with what Kirby seems to have taken from The Process® as well... no UF specific practice content until Thursday of last week, and even then only half of the practice. Seems like it's worked pretty well for you guys historically. I'll take it.

I can't remember when, but a couple of years ago (maybe the 1st playoff year) he decided they were overprepared and it was counterproductive, so they pushed back game prep to basically a normal game week approach.

I don't know if that changed the bye week prep or not though.

This is so stupid. Every team uses the bye week to work on themselves at least for the first half of the week. Gotta love LSU fans looking for any way to pretend that Bama is worried about them. They are going to embarrass LSU.

We have been doing it like this for years. Do it during bowl games too.

Nick Saban thoughts on LSU, what needs fixing | al.com
quote:

The bye week is here that means at least one thing. Nick Saban made the annual late October trip to the Birmingham Monday Morning Quarterback Club.

Before speaking to the banquet room in downtown, Saban spent about five minutes chatting with the press. Here are the highlights from the conversation:

-- Saban started out thanking the organization with whom he's partnered for donations from the Nick's Kids foundation.

-- On the bye week, Saban said it isn't necessarily that important for players to stay as "focused and locked in" during the bye week. They need to remain committed to improve what needs to be done but it's not like a regular game week.

-- "Our season will be defined by how we finish," Saban said.

-- The bye week is about mapping out the rest of the season, not a two-week prep for LSU. "I know the LSU game is a big game. It always is and we certainly have a lot of respect for how they're playing now. They're doing a great job and they've played very well the last few games, but we're not going to start our focus on them today or tomorrow." They don't want to change the rhythm of things in terms of game preparation because there's extra time.

-- Saban updated the injuries to Josh Jacobs and Da'Shawn Hand...

-- There isn't a position or aspect of this team that doesn't have something to clean up at this point in the season, Saban said.

-- Some things to fix in the passing game: Third-down efficiency, play-action, drop-back passes and some of the run-pass options. "I think all of those areas could stand a little cleaning up," Saban said...

I can’t wait until A&M actually wins a game against LSU. Should be an interesting time.

For losing a game for which we are 20 point dogs?

I don't get the Aggie penchant for bama dickriding.
