I've said before it's going to be a sad day when the Stalling's, Dye's, Dooley's etc... of the world are gone. They are the last of their kind from the good ole days in the SEC.

Still the best man I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.

I was a walk on during his first year at UA. He convinced me in a short time that he was the right man for the job and cared about each and EVERYONE of his players, including me. I was heading to my position meeting room when I passed him in the hall. I said, "afternoon Coach!" He caught me off guard when he called me by name and then proceeded to ask me about my parents and little sister. He knew that both of my parents were educators and I was left just standing there all slack jawed. I stammered, "how?" He simply replied that it was his responsibility to know each and everyone of the people in his building. He made my day! Made me feel like I was an All American and not some walk on.

Prayers up for you Coach Stallings!!!

An old-school southern gentleman, with a special place in the hearts of Bama fans. Thanks, coach! Prayers sent.

Thank for allowing me to sign up and post my message on the rant. I've been reading the post for the last few years and it's been very entertaining but never felt the need to comment until seeing this post about coach Gene Stallings. I've met coach Stallings on 3 different occasions and can attest that this is one of the finest human beings God ever put on the face of this Earth. The world would be a much better place if it had 100,000 Gene Stallings but since it doesn't I thank God for the one Gene Stallings he gave us. I pray for him and his entire family. I absolutely love the man, he is a real Texas gentleman. Do you realize coach Stallings never had an agent or even a written contract when he was the coach at the University of Alabama? His deal was done with just a handshake and an honest word. I'm older and I realize many of you may think this is silly or funny but I've got to say that I miss the world as it used to be when it had lots of men like Gene Stallings. Men that would look you in the eye and Shake Your Hand and what they told you you could take it to the bank. Get well coach Stallings and God bless you. I doubt I will post very often because I'm old and I'm smart enough to know the less you say the smarter you look.

Somebody is going through and downvoting every single post here, including the OP.

That one remaining unjailed Miami fan has been rustled something awful.
