How Does A&M Stop the Bama Offense?

This will be the key to the game. ( Or the key to A&M covering the spread)
Our pass defense is horrendous but our front seven is good at generating pressure/sacks.
I’m not that familiar with bamas personnel. But do we just double Ridley and sell out on the run? I’m not convinced of Hurts passing ability, but why pass when I think he has a ridiculous 8-9 ypc.
Bama fans thoughts on the matchup? I really have little faith in our freshman QB against that defense. But our own defense in front of a full house has somewhat a chance, to atleast make it respectable.

Shoot down the team plane as it circles College Station

You don't, if you can barely stop ours you have no hope

roofies- the only answer.

I'll be honest, we're pretty fvckin good on offense now that our offensive line seems to have gelled and our coordinator has figured things out with our players.
A&M's best bet is probably to try and smother everything within 10 yards and make us throw down the field...........but if you are in single coverage on any of our receivers then we are probably going to make a bunch of big plays. Jalen isn't Peyton Manning but he can throw single coverage long outs and posts. And, if you play everyone up we will stretch you and then all that is needed is one missed tackle and one of the backs of Jalen is gone to the house.
However, A&M is probably the most athletic defense we've played since FSU (not sure they are better than Vanderbilt, but probably more athletic).

Put 9 in the box and play zero coverage.
If Hurts throws for 500 yards so be it. You can't let them go on 10 play drives that are nothing but runs.

1. We play the game of our lives.
2. They play their worst.
3. Prayer.

The only way it happens is if the plumbing and AC both fail in the visitors' locker room and armed guards are posted to ensure no one wearing an Alabama uniform is allowed in the other bathrooms.

The way Alabama is wrecking havoc at the moment I really do not see A&M being much of a chance. Not trying to be high and mighty with Alabama, but just throwing that out there. It is possible, but not likely.

quote:probably not a good idea. We had like 9 guys catch passes Saturday. We are spreading the ball nicely, especially to our RBS, who are excellent receivers. Bama is going to be extremely hard to stop by anyone. We are too multiple, our oline is too dominant, our rb corp is too deep, and we have too many difference maker receivers

If I'm honest, the reason A&M kept it close into the 4th last year was because Kiffin kept calling passes and our pass rush was pretty good.
If he had run 75% of the time it wouldn't have been close.

The oline is getting it's shite together, and Dabol finally has a good feel for all of the weapons he has in his tool box. Y'all will have to load up to stop the run and make Hurts beat you with the pass, at the same time you'll have to watch out for Ridley & about 6 others that can catch really well.
Bama's defense looks to be communicating and working together now too. The guys were having fun Saturday night - reminded me of Courtney/Marcel/CJ/Rolando...when they used to feed off each other as the game progressed.

A&M has given up 6.08 YPP and 430 YPG to their 3 P5 opponents.
Alabama averages 6.84 YPP and 520 YPG against their 3 P5 opponents.
So, best case scenario A&M holds Alabama to 6.3 YPP? We average about 70 plays per game. That'd be 441 yards.
A&M averages giving up 12.7 Yards per Point. Alabama averages 11.0 Yards Per Point. So let's go with 12.0 Yards Per Point...........that's about 37 points.
So 37 points and 440 yards if A&M holds Alabama somewhere between your averages and our averages.

i honestly think that alabama could communicate every play over the stadium loudspeaker to their players on the field, and we still wouldn't cover the spread.

Negotiate a surrender and don't actually play the game
I'll take 31-14 bama and save the trouble of them injuring us

I think absolute best case scenario is Bama shows up slow out of the gate, we get some turnovers and/or a ST score and lose something like 38-21.
If at any point we have the ball in the second half with a chance to take the lead I'll be surprised.

Forcing turnovers is the only real answer
