A free education isn't a worthy trade of billions. All top basketball players should go NAIA or over seas. Football players should idkkkk, you need 3-5 years to be ready for the NFL. What are you guys thoughts?

You get a free education and exposure to the NFL.
If that's not worth it for you to play, then negotiate it higher or go somewhere else. It's how the free market works.

A player can go overseas whenever they wish. They can go to the NBA after 1 year. Most will not do either, so that free education is incredibly valuable to them. But hey, sure. Get rid of the scholarships. I'm sure all those poor kids that aren't good enough to play pro ball somewhere and make enough to set them for life will figure out a way to get a degree and make a good living some other way.

Your point is mostly correct but let's not understate the value of a college education. These degrees are not minor. They also get football training and development, some from outstanding football minds. That's no minor thing either. They also get room and board and food. Let's not act as though they're slaves.
Some of these guys may be worth a lot more than they're getting, but there are more guys getting more than they're worth. All these small university guys get great deals.

Jesus Christ man. You do know that almost all these college athletes will be doing something else other than professional sports. I got an idea get a calculator out. Calculate how many Division 1,2 and 3 athlete their are then calculate how many picks are in the pro sports drafts. You will get the idea if its worth it or not.

This is a dumb troll.
Students and student athletes are not professionals.
All of this bleeding heart for the student athlete needs to redirect their thoughts and ideas to the NFL/NBA.
Let employers stop their age discrimination and train/employ those who want wage/compensation.

Unless you can figure out a way of paying players without the university or its boosters having any part whatsoever in the process, it would be a violation of federal law.

You know what would be great if we could calculate just how much all NCAA athletes total scholarship money is worth. I guarantee its way more than rookies jumping to pro sports early when you compare the numbers.

That's bullshite. Anyone who has the grades to get into college and really wants it bad enough, will find a way to go to college. You ever heard of student loans, grants, WORKING TO PAY FOR YOUR EDUCATION? GTFO with that bullshite, I didn't have money for school either, I had to bust my arse working 2 jobs while I was in school to pay for it. Youre an idiot.
