Looking at most of these projections, and they seem to think its a foregone conclusion. Hell, I even heard a couple of talking heads claiming they would win the SEC.

Im not sure where all of this is coming from, but if they don't live up to expectations what does that mean for the coach?

Seems pretty split between UGA and UF.

Well that depends. If UGA were to go 4-8, it probably would be bad. If UGA were to go 10-2, probably not bad.

He will be on the hot seat...point blank. Our o-line must come to play though.

How about 7 or 8 wins?

Would be uneasy. Severity would depend on the circumstances (excessive injuries, etc.)

Projections take into account the "most likely" scenario... and I'd say it's about 50/50 split that say the *most likely* would be UGA or UF making it out of the east... given the rosters and schedules, that's not a bad bet. UT has a really tough draw with LSU out of the west plus always playing Bama. It doesn't mean that Mizzou/USCe/UK/Vandy are "out of it" by any means, but they certainly wouldn't be thrown into "most likely" territory either. Ultimately, all of it at this point is a bunch of writers circle jerking themselves and rarely do they really go "bold" and pick someone against the herd's thoughts.

As to what would happen for the coach, as said above... it's all about how the season plays out. If we lose the East but end up 10-2, or 9-3 with wins over UF and Ga Tech, but maybe losses to some combination of Miss State, UT on the road, Auburn, or Notre Dame early... it's probably not that big of a deal. On the other hand, if we lose UF, Auburn, and Ga Tech, and drop another 1-2 games to end up 8-4/7-5, probably not a good look... likely nothing happens to Smart but it will hurt recruiting which in turn would really hurt him in the area that is probably his greatest strength.

Florida wins the east and Smart is still not on the hot seat.

South Carolina is really the wildcard in the division this year.

One of the kickoff shows on ESPN I watched for a few minutes yesterday. Forget which analyst it was.

Then Barrett Sallee needs his computer taken away from him. Gotta be the only "analyst" to predict that.
