I wouldn't put it past them for one second. They are world record holding dumbasses. Kings of the dumbest fricking kingdom.
Plus, they're a lawyer school and because of this, they can do whatever they goddamn want.

Every fan base to ever go through an investigation of major violations think like this.

Upvoted. You're correct about the patience. This thing is going to linger quite a while. No need to be jumping the gun. Cause at this rate, if we were holding said gun, we would just shoot ourselves in the foot. Yea, a majority of the fans thinks they have to keep up with the Jones's. But alot of us are rational and just ready to hit reset and just watch a game.

Wasn't their interim coach involved in some of this stuff? How can he remain?

I feel for the rational Ole Miss fans. The problem is, the most irrational among them appear to be the ones making all the decisions like Bjork and Vitter and the booster gang.
I mean seriously, when is someone in charge going to say, "Y'all fricked this thing up about as bad as you could do it. Get out and don't let the door hit you on the way out...ALL OF YOU!! You are banned, disassociated, fired and anything else that removes you from any contact with this university. We got a helluva lot of work to do to clean this mess up. And it starts with getting rid of all of Y'ALL!"
It's past time. What a sad, embarrassing situation for the Rebels that just want to root for a decent team, not a bunch of mercenaries.

Well Miami did and North Carolina currently thinks they do. Not saying we do because I seriously doubt it but it's not like someone never has.

The only reason they won't get the death penalty is because the NCAA would be committing suicide in doing so. The NCAA has no inherant authority, only the authority granted them by the group consent of the programs they oversee. If they show they are willing to cause the kind of financial hit the DP would bring upon a school in 2017, programs will quickly start questioning their authority.
Football brings in more private money to OM annually than every other branch of the athletic and academic programs combined.

I think the reason we are seeing such epic dumb frickery is partially because of what you say about their football revenue, and also partially because of the economic disparity in a place like Oxford, MS. The big money people down there are so far removed from reality because everywhere they look in their daily lives they see people with nothing. They actually think they're like frickin kings or something.
So when the NCAA comes calling, they are JUST ARROGANT ENOUGH to think they're gonna get away with this shite.
It's astounding.

I couldn't say it much better. I've been asking for quite a while when is someone going to grow a pair and wipe them all out. The problem is that everyone is involved that has any position in the AD. I don't know who or what it's going to take to get rid of all of them. I'm hoping the NCAA can take care of that problem so no one stays. Hit reset with some small time upcomer and play ball. Then after the years of trying to get back to some resemblance of a decent team, find a better staff. No one in their right mind would come here right now. Only way I could see someone doing that is if their trying to make a name for themselves, and use it as a "Hey, I got them through probation and made the Birmingham Bowl". I'm just ready to watch football and could care less who's on the sidelines. We will be lucky I think to not lose quite a few that's already on the team. Not counting recruits. It truly is hard for the real fans that devote their time and money to them, and then get this handed to us in return.
And no, my head isn't in the sand. We did this to ourselves and it's not some kind of witch hunt. And anyone who couldn't see this coming, I'm not sure what to say. I knew that we were being to fast with getting big name players. The more disappointing part is now knowing who and what all else was involved. I'm gonna be a fan of the team still, but as far as coaches and AD, I won't be happy with them until it's names Ole Miss never heard of takes over.

He's in quite a pickle strictly from a perception POV.
If he were to do that, it would be made out by those he did it to (boosters included) that he was sacrificing them to cover himself.
If he doesn't, the NCAA will just keep taking nibbles and complicity will be assumed by many.
If OM wanted to scapegoat and/or blame [guilty] parties the admin had to jettison him first. The window has passed now.

They could not, the NCAA found a few bodies but Bjork/Freezus know where the graveyard is.
This is why they defended Freeze until it was an untenable position and will go down with Bjork or pay him a pile to shut up and go away.

Huh? You act like all of Mississippi being poor except a few people isn't EXACTLY how it is is every fricking state in the south. It ain't like Walmart is paying more per hour in Arkansas than it is in Mississippi.

I mean once you take away whores, Red Lobster, cars and Rebel Rags gear, and cash, what does OM have to offer for recruits?
