Mississippi State is not a traditional powerhouse, but I have news for you...UGA isn't either.
Please don't compare State to UGA. I wouldn't compare OM to UGA either.

Who's comparing?
I'm simply stating the UGA isn't nearly the program they think they are.

The thing you're overlooking is that State was doing this before Mullen too, but they weren't winning the games back then.
He'd face harder competition at a better school, but he'd also have more talent at a better school, so it's hard to say he'd do poorly.

Mullen would do well because he excels at developing the most important position in college football. The Qb. He's just now starting to reel in some high rated guys too. If he was at a big school that recruited itself, he'd be developing 5* regularly like Tebow and Cam.

Mullen has done well, and the MSU Admin helped him build his program with workable schedules.

Sagarin SOS while Mullen has been at State
2016: MSU 55, UGA 48
2015: MSU 24, UGA 55
2014: MSU 17, UGA 8
2013: MSU 15, UGA 8
2012: MSU 49, UGA 27
2011: MSU 28, UGA 23
2010: MSU 30, UGA 36
2009: MSU 1, UGA 7
Yes, that was #1 SOS for MSU in 2009. In fact, per the NCAA website SOS, it was the toughest schedule in all of cfb going back 10 years.
For Mullen's years at MSU, State's SOS more than holds its own vs UGA's SOS. State's SOS was tougher 3 of the 8 seasons and within 5-9 spots for 4 more.

He beats Ole Miss the same way Vandy does these days....so yea... I guess that's partially correct.

Correct. We measure success by beating Bama and LSU.
State and Vandy measure success by beating OM. Why did you expect me to dispute these facts?

If that's what it takes for you to consider it a successful year, you've had an awful lot of shitty ones.

This is coming from a fan base that thinks recruiting will "get back to normal" after the NCAA because Freeze is an "elite" recruiter.

Ole Miss All Time Record vs. Bama, LSU, & AUB
63-139-6
Good Job

State's scheduling makes sense when you look at Mullen's record against ranked opponents. Smart of the AD to guarantee the schedule has at least 6 winnable games considering how essential winning those OOC games can be to going bowling. Granted, none of this matters because 55-20, it's over, cheatin' Bears, etc., but Mullen does tend not to lose games he shouldn't, which is more than I can say about a lot of other coaches in the conference, including Ole Miss'

The argument for Mullen has always been, "Imagine what he could do at a better program." The problem is all better programs would give him a much tougher schedule.
Hey didn't Georgia lose to Vandy last year?

Take the outlier of LSU out of there

Red herring, this thread really triggered the state folks
Posted on 6/27/17 at 1:04 pm to CNB
Yea, considering his point is idiotic. State's SOS over Mullen's tenure has evened out to be about the same as Georgia's (or any other non SEC West team in the country) SOS. The yearly average SOS is 27. There are a very limited number of schools that would offer him the ability to recruit better and have a much tougher schedule.

So he did better vs Kentucky than Mark Richt.

He has yet to make a point that wasn't intrinsically explained from the offset. In other words, the only point of this thread is to feed his bizzare obsession.
