That is why the A&M Tech rivalry was so good
I do not see why A&M will not play them anymore.
Tech may beat the more than not out in Lubbock but it is not a series in which A&M won't win most of the games

There's plenty of land out in West Texas (hundreds of thousands of acres) that belongs to the University of Texas Board of Regents, and which puts your cow pastures in College Station to shame.
You see, it has oil under it.
And I notice that you don't dispute that Aggy was founded as a branch of the University of Texas. FAIL.

I have. TX is the largest state that comprises "the American Southwest". How can you be a Texan and not know, or deny this? TX isn't the South. It's culture isn't southern. I live in "the South" and I know TX. It's western. It's the largest part of the American Southwest which includes NM and AZ. Period.
Here's a simpleton color coded map that more accurately lays out where the nation is, culturally speaking, that you can easily understand.

East texas and houston are very similar to louisiana. With the refineries along the gulf and the oil and gas industry is king over there. There are a ton of louisiana transplants that live in houston and that may contribute to the feel being the same. The landscape is the same, very flat, the weather is the same, pretty much the only difference is that they have more mexicans, but that is to be expected being so close to the border. Texas, especially houston is the south. It's a southern city.

I always found the founding of both Texas and A&M to be somewhat muddled. Don't doubt you're correct, but I remember something about how either A&M or UT was delayed because Texas was annexed by the United States.

The land in College Station had oil under it, as well, if memory serves me.
UT has gobs of money. But A&M made the smartest choice from a financial standpoint to leave the Big XII. Perhaps the best choice they made ever in terms of athletics.
So much so, that I actually believe A&M has surpassed UT in terms of athletic revenue. I could be wrong, but I believe that's the case.
