Do you think it is easier to win the national championship in football at the University of Alabama, or in basketball at the University of Kentucky?
Based on results, I have to go with the University of Alabama Crimson Tide football program.
What does the SECRant think?

Bama football. I think.
Would be interesting to see football recruiting/success if they had a 1 and Done rule

Football at Bama. But that has more to do with the fact that football tends to actually crown the best team, and the basketball tournament is a crapshoot.

Since Bama has won like 5 of the last 6 or so titles, I'll go with Bama.
UK should have at least 3 in the last 6 years, but doesn't.

It's easier to win a football championship at Bama. You have a 6 game gauntlet in basketball at the end of a 4+ month season. Additionally, at least 4 of those games will be against good or great competition.

Better question, easier to win a football championship at UK or a basketball title at Bama?

SEC football is overall still at the top as a conference, so the SEC champ is going to be the odd's on favorite going into the postseason. Bama has established that they are very likely to be that team that emerges from the SEC each season.
Not the case in basketball; the ACC is the dominant conference. Kentucky can emerge as the SEC champ, and it may still be behind Duke/UNC or some of the rest, like Louisville etc. And Kentucky hasn't locked the SEC down like Bama has, since the one-and-done means they have to reload every year, while Bama keeps building on what they have.
Conference competition matters- Bama football should have faced solid progams with multiple styles (LSU-run and defense, A&M- air raid, Auburn- hybrid HUNH, etc), while Kentucky doesn't necessarily face the same level of opposition each season in conference. Those in-season tests should better prepare you in the post-season.

It is a numbers game
In football you have maybe 10 teams that can seriously compete for a Natty but in basketball you may have a pool of 50 to 100. Basketball has such a lower barrier to entry that it is much easier to compete.
