Orgeron has reached out via intermediaries, but I'm pretty sure we want someone who speaks english. Might just give Pat Henry the job.

They offered to strike the Les Miles quote, and they offered him more money. Sorry you don't know the facts.

It's a part of the court record

quote:

Alleva agreed to remove the "Les Miles clause" from Chavis’ proposed new deal only after LSU’s loss in the Music City Bowl on Dec. 30, 2014 — far too late, according to Miles’ deposition, for Chavis to cancel plans to join Texas A&M. In a meeting with Chavis at the team’s hotel in Nashville, Tennessee, Miles offered Chavis a three-year deal worth $1.8 million per year after Miles’ agent, George Bass, convinced Alleva to remove the clause.

Ok, let me correct myself.
The Les Miles clause was not negotiable, until it was far too late in the negotiation to be meaningful.

coaches aren't "commodity's". and there has been no change in the market for Head coaches. none whatsoever. hiring SUCCESSFUL coaches from other big schools has always been a rarity.

I just hope they hire Les Miles. It would give us something to laugh about.

O wasn't willing to cheat enough to win at Ole Miss, why would he embrace those same issues at a lesser program?

Hell, half of A&M's problem is their refusal to let go of that Big XII offense and commit to running the damn ball consistently. The defense is soft for sure, but you don't do anything to help it out trying to be basketball on grass.

Bringing in Les would be great for you. He'd have you playing big boy football in a couple of years and Chavis should have the defense shored up by then. You could do much worse, like trying to stay in that fast break mold. I'm a big admirer of Chad Morris but he and Chip Kelley are not what you need.

Don't base your "middle of the pac" statement on A&M's worst 10 yrs in their history. 00-10

The jury is still out on Chad Morris, and i think he is gonna do great things somewhere. I seem to recall Clemson having a fairly balanced attack against Bama in those two title games, and they don't win it this year without the offense he installed and QB he developed in to a bonafide stud in Watson.

I know you are joking but I actually agree with this. But only for several years then replace Les with a new coach. For sure Les knows the the trenches and they could do far worse.

Maybe Sumlin pulls out a 10+ win season
No chance. Aggy boys just treading water with him.

He didn't have enough skins on the wall to get the gig and never should have been hired in the first place.

His UH success was all due to Holgorsen and Keenum.

Had the Manziel GOAT at A&M and couldn't sniff a Championship.

He's getting a little leniency from the PC Monster!

Time to move on and correct the error Aggies................

We do need to run the ball. We need to get better in the trenches on both sides of the ball. That comes with practicing it every day.

Not a lot of good options out there. I am still looking at that coach from Colorado as a dark horse. Mike MacIntyre.

If we could get Les and Chief back together, they would do amazing things at A&M. Look at how much they squeezed out of LSU with old facilities and a toxic culture. With an actual quality program behind them, they'd win a natty in 3 years tops.

Never change, Aggie. Never change.

I'm looking forward to it because then I will be able to afford to go to games again. During the latter Fran years and the Sherman era I had great seats for $200 a season.

I would say either Chad Morris, who is an Ag, or Larry Fedora who is from College Station. Larry's brother was just hired at A&M Consolidated HS and is a big time HS coach here in Texas. Larry could be coerced to come back to CS to be with family.

In sumlins defense about not sniffing a championship even with JFF, had we not missed a FG vs Florida or 2 FG and an XP vs LSU we would of been in the NC In 2012

Damn kickers
