What does the SEC think of Ed Orgeron as a recruiter?

In all honesty, are other SEC teams actually worried about Ed O at least more then Les? In a recruiting sense that is.

he is a good recruiter, he has been known for that for a while. But HC recruiting is different than assistants, so yet to see how he proceeds

From a recruiting standpoint, Les was good....but it really does sound like Ed O is better.

My buddy is a high school coach in Louisiana and he flat out told me he is the best recruiter he has ever met. I know this could be biased and trigger people, but he went on to say he was better than Saban. Although Saban clearly has the hardware to back it up, that gives him the overall edge, but if Ed can get LSU back to where it was 10 years ago, then it could get interesting.

Les recruited at an extremely high level. Recruiting was never the problem under Les and it won't be under Orgeron either

He was excellent in the Blind Side selling SJ on letting him lead the team out onto the field.

He's a good but overrated recruiter.

My honest opinion is that he is similar to Sumlin, he gets who he wants normally and will bring in some pretty highly rated classes.

However talent evaluation is neither of their strong suit and rely too much on recruiting services to rank his targets for them, this leads to a lot of bust and kids who do not fit the system.

Things may have changed with EdO but this was my impression when he was at OM.

Fans get far too wrapped up in recruiting rankings.
