After McElwain was hired, the Orlando Sentinel said Freeze was never a candidate due to his character.

That was made up because Florida didn't want egg on their face because Freeze turned them down to stay in Vahalla, aka Oxford/Ole Miss/Grove/I could go on for days. At least that's what Ole Miss fans tell me.

they were already into the NCAA stuff and most big time programs get a heads up from the NCAA before they hire a new coach, especially a HC. UF's AD at the time had been around the block before.

Why wasn't this reported at the time Freeze was a candidate to be Florida's Head Coach? Freeze came out and said he had a job offer from another SEC school. Also at the time of the investigation the NCAA had nothing on Freeze and the only thing on Ole Miss was the prior staff. Schools are so afraid to be turned down by coaches now that it is hard to find out if a coach had a job offer or not.

Dude Freeze turned down bigger jobs than Florida HC, he actually turned down Bama OC job.

Nahh I'm good. I know that you get off to all this ole miss drama, but in the long run it still won't help Mississippi State ever do anything so keep dreaming.

Yeah, and despite buying top ranked classes it showed you the bottom of the west. Did you know MSU has finished above Ole Miss every year Mullen has been our coach except for one?
PS: How are the sactions coming along? Think it will be a two year ban, 5 years probation and loss of 35-50 scholarships over 5 years?
