I am just excited about next yr. Coaches will have 3 capable guys, each with strengths and weaknesses. They all seem level headed, not trying to be social media kings, and go about bizniz.

I think the important thing is what Bamadoc mentioned above. Hurts won the team
Unfortunately, I have to agree that Barnett might've been the better QB long-term. He has a great, accurate throwing arm. He might even have NFL potential
If Barnett lights it up at ASU, and Hurts continues to struggle, our fans might be a little upset

Hahaha - might be?

I think he will do well at ASU. Coaches wanted Hurts all along and that was evident IMO. Maybe it was because of his attitude. I sure would have liked to have seen what OJ, Ridley, Stewart, and company could have done with a more accurate passer.

He threw a couple of good, accurate balls in games at Alabama, I wouldn't deem him as having a "great, accurate arm" based on just that, especially considering how much of a turnover machine he was in scrimmages. Hurts threw many more great, accurate throws in an Alabama uniform last year than Barnett, yet we talk about him like he is Spencer Pennington back there.
Its like having a great girlfriend that you are dissolutioned with because you see her bad side sometimes. Even though she is sweet, loving, and puts a lot of effort into the relationship, you want to give up on her, and break up with her, because you spend a ton of time with her and see all of her flaws. You want to leave her for this other girl because she is also pretty. You think she is great because she smiles at you, and tells you nice things when you see her out from time to time. but you haven't seen her weak moments yet. She is a total head-case cvnt once you get to know her.
Like Saban said, the grass is always greener atop the septic tank.

Some of our fans will always be a little upset about our QB situation, no matter who is back there. Just the way it is. Fact is, Barnett quit before he even had a chance to relieve a struggling Hurts, and then victimized himself because Saban claimed that he was "nervous" in his start against USC.
Our football team's culture is to do your job, and play for the guy next to you. He was too much of a "me" person to be on our team apparently.

3- It is a game, isn't it?
4- Give me any example of me calling somebody a sunshine pumper. Go ahead. I bet you can not.

We heard that Barnett turned the ball over several times in 2 scrimmages, but we heard that Barnett was a very good quarterback for the nearly 2 years he was here.
Barnett may have turned the ball over in those 2 practices, but Hurts turned the ball over a heck of a lot in real live games the whole year long. That's not hyperbole. That's a fact.
"Our football team's culture is to do your job" you say. Well, Hurts didn't do his very well vs Clemson, and it cost us a national title. Call that one hyperbole if you want to. I call it a damn shame, especially considering the elite wide receivers we had.

Well I suppose he regressed.

I guess Barnett should have practiced better, that way he would've had an opportunity to turn the ball over in real lives games

You are being obtuse, but that is to be expected.

I think I will just call it "retarded."

Barnett was a quitter. He might have been the most talented quarterback on roster, but he wasn't competitive enough to prove it. If he was as good as he thought he was, he should have stayed until the end of the year and he maybe could have beat out Hurts. I know he had a good reason for leaving, but it doesn't change the fact that he quit on his team.

bullshite. Take off your bammer glasses for a second, and realize that Barnett is a potential NFL QB. He absolutely needed to go to a school that would let him play, and I think what he did was really smart. If he's pissed off, it's because he lost the QB battle to a QB with a worse throwing arm, but better intangibles

Potential NFL QB? Lol. He lost the battle because he couldn't outperform a QB with a "worse throwing arm". There wasn't some conspiracy against Barnett. He lost the job because he didn't give us the best opportunity to win.

Barnett cut out too soon. My guess is that when Saban learned that Hurts couldn't consistently make the throws, turned the ball over too much, and wasn't even a good game manager, Barnett would have had his chance to take back the position. Now, whether or not that might have created a divided team is another thing altogether.

So did Hurts regress, as some folks think he did, or was he just a shitty passer the whole time?

I don't care enough about this to go through your post history.

I knew you couldn't find those examples. Just another clueless guy talking shite.
Posted on 2/18/17 at 1:37 am to Huddie Leadbetter
Pretty sure he was just a freshman the entire time. And the opposition just keyed in on him.

I didn't look and I'm not going to.

I think if Barnett plays all year Bama has the exact same results.

I can't help but notice Barnett does survey the field and not just look at his first option. Had he stayed I can't help but wonder if he had grown during the year could Bama have won a NC with him because he is a far SUPERIOR passer to Hurts. It's not even close.
