wonder how Saban would do at a lesser School

Before any of you mouth breathers say I'm hating on him, I'm not. The guy is clearly the best coach in college football. I just wonder from an experiment perspective how he would do at a school like Mississippi State, North Carolina State, Kentucky, Indiana, Texas Tech, etc. P5 School in a big conference without the tradition or the network.
I wonder how much of it is Saban and how much of it is Bama, the network and tradition they have built.
Dubose won the SEC and Stallings won a natty so its clearly much more advantageous to be Alabama's coach than some other school. But I wonder how much the Saban effect has on the overall product.
As you are "waiting around for him to retire", something to consider.

Must suck to be from a lesser school. Guess I wouldn't know.

True. I'm not talking about LSU, Texas A&M, Auburn, Georgias of the world. More the lower-tier teams have never won a championship

He would eventually win a natty at State.

Look at how great he did in the NFL. He's just the very best at everything.

Alabama was a lesser school when he got there

Well, he made LSU good.

Took BAMA in '07 from 6-6 to 12-0 with virtually the same core players , just with a sprinkle of big time fresh . I think he would have been successful in the NFL if they would have picked up drew Bree's . But I for one am glad they did not .

He would do exactly what he is doing at Bama. I would love to see him take on a UK or Indiana and put his skills to the test.

mmmmmm, he's been really good everywhere but dominant at only one place. Bama and Saban are a perfect Storm. Bama benefits greatly from Saban but Saban benefits from being at Bama too.
He would win but he would not win like this at Kentucky or State.

I know this is meant to be a jab but it's not far from the truth. If I remember correctly, Alabama didn't have one single player drafted in the 08 draft

He could go anywhere now after what he has done at Alabama and be successful. Alabama and Saban were perfect for each other at the time they came together. I am not sure he could have done what he has done at Alabama at a lot of places. He would have been successful at most big school in the SEC but at this point he could win a NC at Vandy or Kentucky.

LSU was good before Saban, just not immediately before.

Saban made Bama relevant again not the other way around. He would have won big at Arkansas, LSU, Georgia, AUBURN, Tennessee or any other major school. He would have at least 6 titles by now if he would have stayed at LSU.

He is great.
He cut his teeth at Toledo. did a good job.
Learned more and developed his system for talent at the Browns- this is why he passes on some really good college players like TM. He developed those prototypes at Cleveland.
Then to Michigan State. He did pretty good, but was either not there long enough to see the fruition of his system or maybe Mich State does not have the resources to truly compete year in and year out with Ohio State and Michigan.
At LSU he was abl to win 2 SECCG and NC. He certainly had the passionate fanbase and resources to succeed there and added a great deal to the process in the areas of support and mental development.
The Miami time was ok, but CFB rosters can be reshaped in about 2 seasons whereas in NFL it takes at least 4 seasons to really impact the roster.
At Alabama Saban found a desperate sleeping giant with endless passion, massive resources, and a commitment to winning above all else. He has continued to evolve as a coach and probably is responsible for about 80% of the success of any place he has been.
So in short, I think CNS could make any program better, but Bama, Ohio St, Michigan, USC would have outsize success.

Dunno about the NFL but history will probably have him go down as the best college coach of all time. It is what it is.

Only IF they had the singular focus and commitment to win.
