If you argue Alabama should not have played in the National Championship game in 2011 because they did now win their conference,(Most LSU fans on here make that argument) then how can anyone argue that a team that came in third in their division of their conference should be in the 4 team playoffs? Wisconsin might have been ahead of Michigan in the conference making them #4 in their own conference
That's was only 2 teams. This is 4 team playoff
Michigan is the only team in top 10 to currently have 3 top 10 wins.
That's why they were 5 in the CFP... IDK Washington is in top 4 with no wins over top 15 teams currently and the only team they did play in the top 15 they lost to.

1) Bama
2) Clemson
3) PSU/Wisconsin
4) Washington
This is the correct answer, especially if PSU wins the B1G. No way in hell tOSU should go over PSU when PSU wins the conference and beat them head-to-head

So you're saying, if LSU/UGA was playing in the SECCG, and LSU had beaten Alabama head to head, you wouldn't have a problem with Alabama and Florida in the playoffs even if LSU beat UGA in the SECCG?

Then if that's the four best teams IYO.
Then why not put them in playoff.

Assuming Clemson and Alabama win this weekend:
4. Big 10 Champ
3. Pac 12 Champ
2. Clemson
1. Alabama
First ones out:
5. Big 12 Champ
6. Western Michigan (if they win)
7. Navy (If they win)
8. Ohio State
4. Big 10 Champ
3. Pac 12 Champ

Yes they would deserve it over LSU.
Problem is neither of the teams in the BIG 10 Title game beat Michigan.
14-7 Wisconsin
49-10 Penn State

I understand that, but they are 4th in their conference. If you put them in there you should put the three teams in their conference in there with them.
Over the course of the season they played better than Michigan.

And two losses. Add to that, they have 2 losses in their last 3 games, so they are not playing particularly well right now. Too many people are going with Michigan because of Harbaugh. Most don't even realize that Harbaugh has never won his own conference......ever. Not at Michigan and not at Stanford.
Well, it's clear that the Big 0 was by far the best conference in the country. I wouldn't say a word if they got two teams in the playoffs. My only complaint is when the SEC was by far the most dominate conference there is no way they would have allowed two teams in.

Michigan lost to Iowa. Case closed
At least Wisconsin would have won a legitimate trophy in what some people are calling the best conference in America
Michigan has won the equivalent of the "battle at Bristol". Or if different terms. frick all

If its OU then Ohio State smoked OU at OU.
If we are that stuck on conference champions.
Then if Alabama loses this weekend can you honestly say they shouldn't be in the playoff even though they aren't a conference champ?

Wasn't it pretty clear in 2011 that LSU and Alabama were the two best teams in the nation? It was to me.

Here is how to solve this committee crisis.
go to 8 team playoff with the following berths
Power 5 conf championship winners (5)
At large teams (3)
Play first round week after championship games and then fill the bowls.
Play the last two rounds in the bowl format they are using now.
What they are doing now is neutering the conference championships. You could potentially have every P5 conference champion left out of the playoff...

Yes, Alabama honestly should not be in if they lose the SEC Championship Game.

Michigan beat both of those teams and almost killed one of them literally.
No way you can say that

Incorrect. Ohio State beat Wisconsin, Michigan and Oklahoma.

2011 lsu ( they deserve another chance)
Lsu with O (joey swampwater on the way)
Auburn with stidham (non-fragile sean)
Gus and his son jj, 2 vs 11 (you & me against the world)

At least they played in the conference championship.
Neither Michigan nor Ohio State is by definition, the best team in their conference. They are AT BEST the 2nd and 3rd best team, and Michigan, it could be argued is 4th best team.

I think all the favorites win this weekend and the final four is:
1 Bama
2 Clem
3 UW
4 OSU
I think OSU gets jumped by Clem and UW for winning their conference title setting up a rematch of 2014, which is the game everyone really wants to see anyway.
