Feels good to be on top.
Lets take care of business against Bama.

I'm confused ... but I'm trying to think who you meant to put there?
Lemme think ... McGuire, Foster, Felton, Fogler, Odom, Horn, Martin ... I think that's just about everyone since '65. Who am I forgetting?
ETA: Was it Frank Johnson by chance? Did he have that many wins?

...yeah that's Frank Johnson with 174 wins. I was having a helluva time the other day trying to post. I guess I can't wait for Frank Martin to challenge Frank McGuire's 283 and just put Martin on the list twice. I started thinking on friday morning Martin had to be getting close to George and ended up just getting lost in all the numbers.

I had forgotten about Frank Johnson ... sheeeesh, I mean that's a name I have thought about in a long long time. He was actually before my time - at least time that I remember much.
Think about it .... one day our three winningest coaches may all be named Frank.

God I've never seen a team miss so many shots like we just did. I'm scared we play like this in the tournament and have another first round exit

Biggest thing is don't turn this loss into 2 losses. I'm extremely worried about that for our game @MSU.

When we sat down tonight and saw Mike Morgan in front of us at the mic ... we all said the same thing. Mike Morgan jinx.
His credentials should be taken away.
But yeah, now I'm worried about the MSU game although we can beat anyone as long as Morgan is not in the house.

What a crazy arse game. We went 3-30 in the 1st half for 16 points. That's mind boggling to only make 3 shots in 20 mins. Then we were down 8 w/ under 3 mins to go before going all out press & climbing back into it. It looked like we had the game won in OT after tech on Bama we took a 7 pt lead. Then we give up back2back 3s & a layup off a steal which was a terrible decision by PJ to throw that ball back across the court carelessly. We had our chances but guys were just gassed. Gotta give Bama credit they made some big time threes down the stretch.
Thornwell is the SEC POY. He's a monster competitor on the court & is like Carrera but has more game. Best player I've every seen wear a Carolina jersey hands down.

I hate to be a downer, but was this not the most South Carolina thing ever? Laying an egg.
And of course this is the game that makes Sportscenter. Haha

Depends on how we respond against Miss State to me. If we go down there and lose again, then yes. I will see shades of last year all over again.

Bama has a solid RPI in the 60-65 range.
Last year we were losing to teams that finished in the bottom 4 of the league on the road like UT, State and Mizzou (RPI 200+ )
Combine those losses with only one true quality win (@aTm), getting beat by UGA three times and a metric frick ton of upsets in the mid-major conference tourney games that allowed teams to steal bids and it kept us out of the tourney.
One 4 OT loss to a decent conference foe is not gonna keep us out of the tourney and is not an indication that a late season collapse is imminent.

I agree with you that this isn't the beginning of a collapse, just the byproduct of a very tough game.
But I'm a Carolina and Falcons fan, so forgive me if I suffer from some post traumatic fan disorder.

Refs got us back into that game.
Had they not we would have been blown out.

Eh, the refs sucked on all accounts, but then again they have all year. They missed a few both ways, then called some that shouldn't have been called. No consistency whatsoever. The call the PJ fouled out on was a great fundamental defensive play on his part. Feet planted, hands straight up, no reach.

Scary game on the road tonight versus Miss St. We should be fine here, but I thought the same versus Alabama at home last game....

Glad to get the W but damn two things
1) Hit the fricking FTs.
2) In 4 halves and 4 OTs our bench has a combined 16 pts.

Not having Felder healthy's really hurt the bench production imo. He's the only legit threat off the bench.

Undoubtedly the best player off the bench but I expect more from McKie and Gravett on a more regular basis. (who did have the bench's only points tonight)
