How long will the next Bama coach last?

Serious topic for once. I've noticed something for the first time in my life as a Rebel fan, losing sucks when you're used to winning. The past two years have spoiled us as a fan base and a lot of guys, including some of our players, shut it down after Bama as their goals of making it to Atlanta were all but gone. Anything less is a disappointment. I've been through some real shitty years, but this one hurts the most. I expected us to win more than we have.
Now, on to Bama. There hasn't been a single game in years the fan base didn't confidently believe they'd win. In fact, I think it'd get kind of boring to watch. They are so dominant with no signs of slowing down that they're just going through the motions to win more hardware every year. Everyone else is playing for the W, while they assume the W and are dissapointed at nothing less than perfection and a total slaughter. When Saban retires, they might go on a coaching carousel like nothing anyone's seen. Will they chop everyone who tries because they weren't able to fill the midget's big shoes, or will they accept that the dynasty is over and they're back to being a good team who might lose some games and aren't guaranteed the playoffs every year?

Les Miles took over a team loaded with Saban's talent and won a national title (with 2 losses).
CNS will leave the Tide stocked with talent. Plenty of great coaches will be begging for the job.

Ray Perkins would have probably been a very good coach at UA, long term, had he not decided to return to the NFL. He rubbed a lot of people at UA the wrong way, and back then, there were some people with agendas trying to run the program. Thankfully, most of them are gone. Dabo, or whoever follows Saban, probably won't have to deal with that, as times have changed.
That said, it's hard to replace a Paul Bryant or Nick Saban. A few lean years make you appreciate more the good times. Hallelujeh, and the congregation said "Amen".
edit: I've played music since I was a teen. I've suggested a few times Whiskey Dick and The Too Drunk To Funk Band as a band name, but never got any support for that one. I like it.

I agree with you. When saban leave they will be able to get just about any coach they want. Could you imagine the melt if urban ended up there

Sabah will go down as one of the best college coaches ever. Maybe even the best coach. There is no way a new coach will compare to the dominance that Saban brought to the SEC. I am sure the Bama faithful will expect nothing less than the same from Saban's replacement but I bet it will take several years to find a coach that comes close to matching Saban's success.

This is said a lot. How boring was it for you to see Ole Miss beat Bama the last 2 years? Pretty fun wasn't it? That's how we feel every fricking win.

Depends on who is over the NCAA and if the refs are still getting paid. If the behind the scenes stays like it is now you won't notice Saban is gone.

If somebody comes in and keeps winning 10-11 games a year (a tall task) then I think they will be fine. Like I said above, whoever it is will have to be supremely confident in themselves, because the first time they go 9-3 or go 2 years without a playoff or SECCG appearance they will hear it loudly from some.
However, I think rational expectation is 10+ wins a year, win 66-75% of games vs rivals and be in the SECCG at least every other year or so with a shot at the national title. That's a high bar, but it's still lower than the Saban bar.

Urbs is never coming back to the SEC.
It was said as a troll, but Dabo gets the first call. If he replicates what he's doing at Clemson with Bama talent, there will be another statue going up outside BDS.
