What about Bama's O v LSU's D?

I keep hearing how we won't be able to do this, that and the other thing against the greatest defense that ever suited up to play the game of football, but what about the other side of the coin? What will Bama's vaunted offense be able to do against our good, but just weaker and not as impressive defense?
Bama's scoring offense is way up there at 46 per game. However, when you back out 9 defensive TDs (ridiculous) and 3 punt return touchdowns, they are averaging 33 points per game. Good, but not exactly earth shattering. If Bama can't score on defense or special teams, can they score at all against LSU?
Only two defenses that Bama has played against are ranked higher than 69th in total defense, and one is Kent State. The other is USC at 45. Five are ranked 80 or lower in defense. So Bama is averaging 33 offensive points against some pretty bad defenses.
My guess is Bama's offense will be similar to how LSU's offense looked against two elite defenses, Wisconsin and Auburn. LSU's will too. So the game will be something like 17-14. Which, by the way, is pretty much how the last two games in Tiger Stadium have played out.
I wouldn't be surprised to see this thing go to OT yet again. LSU and Alabama have gone to overtime four times in the last 11 games, splitting them 2-2, interestingly, with the road team winning every single time.

We should be fine if we dont turn the ball over
It we dont
it wont go into OT. It will be decided way before that.
These two teams arent nearly as close as you think.

Hurts' passing ability is garbage and LSU's D will expose him

It will be a typical LSU Bama game in TS where both teams play like shite and make mistakes and it comes down to some bullshite in the 4th to decide it

Yep, Bama probably won't be able to even cross midfield all night.

I would say that would only be justice, but justice would be having that happen in a rematch in the playoff.

I agree
Buga will have bigher holes to run through now that we use the forward pass. Thinking he goes for around 175. Stadium should be empty by the 4th. Tigers roll

The only real gap is LSU O vs Bama D....and I submit that that gap isn't as big as YOU think.

And they've moved the ball the way they should have. Not their fault the defense and special teams have taken 12 possessions away.

Don't be so down on your team. LSU isn't that much better, but Alabama certainly has the talent to hang around and maybe even win.

Well, compared to literally the greatest collection of athletes on one side of the football that has ever been collected, yes, LSU's defense simply cannot compare to that plus the greatest defensive mind that ever existed, including like great war generals and shite.

Well, my point is that people keep saying that LSU's offense has only looked good the last three weeks since that fateful day on the Plains (averaging almost 42 points per game) because of the crappy defenses we've played. And while I agree, we've played some crappy defenses, the same can be said for Alabama. So, it's hard to know what to think about the Alabama offense to this point, if that's the measuring stick. Plus, when you look at how many non-offensive points have been scored by this team, it further blurs reality.

As an honest tiger fan, I can say that Bama will win or lose the game based on their ability to run the ball between the tackles. Unfortunately, that is where LSU is the weakest, and Bama will attack it until we can stop it. If it cant be stopped, the game will be over in the 1st quarter. If LSU proves they can stop the run up the gut, it will force Bama to run outside, or throw the ball, both of which falls into LSU's favor.

- Alabama is #12 nationally in Yards Per Play
- Alabama is #6 nationally in Yards Per Rush
- Alabama is #34 nationally in QB Rating
- Texas A&M gives up 3.85 Rush YPA vs non-Alabama teams. Alabama averaged 5.04 Rush YPA.
- USC gives up 4.00 Rush YPA vs non-Alabama teams. Alabama averaged 5.38 Rush YPA.
- Alabama's offense is ranked #10 by S&P and #17 by ESPN FPI.
Etc, etc
Bottom line, I think it's pretty fair to say Alabama has a pretty good offense. Is it elite? We'll find out in a couple weeks.

The gump QB is a little less than stellar, when throwing the ball down field. He completed 1, count that, just 1, pass beyond 10 yards against atm.
It really will be a close game.

Don't worry, the zebras will assist if needed.

LSU is giving up 2.9 yards per carry on the ground, second best in the nation behind Alabama's ridiculous 2.18 YPC. We're even slightly better than Michigan in YPC against. Why do you say that is where we are weakest?

I can honestly say idk what what will happen. I think its pretty funny that most Bama fans are predicting a blowout though. When is the last time Bama blew us out in Tiger stadium? It just don't happen. With that being said, I think Bama is by far the best team in the nation and should win the game, but you can NEVER count out the Tigers in Death Valley under the lights!

I don't think anywhere near most Alabama fans are predicting that, and the majority that are are just trolling. Most expect a tight game.
