Bama fans- Question about yesterday's game

What in God's name was Kiffin thinking in the first half? You have a glaring weakness in the passing game, but your running game more than makes up for it. You could have won by 40 yesterday, but 3 times in the redzone, you started pasing. Why did Kiffin insist on passing when it was clearly not going to work?

I'm sure they'll ask him at practice on Monday.

Did that to some extent against us too in the first half.

That is the $100 question. Still, in the end, we win by almost 20, so it's hard to get too mad. But it's definitely frustrating to see as it's happening.

The only success we had against them is when they tried to pass.

Was over thinking things is my guess.
However, we did then score 2 TDS in the red zone on similar plays later in the game.

Maybe he knew A&M could not hang with Bama and was trying to work on Jalen's passing game? How the hell do we know what Kiffin was thinking?

I'm ok with calling those plays. We would of scored more points of course but you can't run the ball every down.

That's a reasonable explanation, but the game was still close at that point.

He pulls that crap every game. Should have been 24-7 at the half.

Yup. And every game I'm screaming "Dammit! Run it, Lane!" so loud he could hear me all the way from Ft Walton Beach if he didn't have those dang headphones on.

There is method behind the apparent madness. Jalen needs to pass more in live game situations..l that's his obvious glaring weakness. It was obvious that Bama could run it down their throats but the passing game NEEDS to be a threat and Jalen WILL get better..

At the end of the day, you're still 8-0 and dominant, but I was scratching my head yesterday.

To be fair kept getting 1st and goal on the 10. Worst spot to be in. We did run a few times on 1st and 2nd without success there and you're immediately in that crap zone

If you don't throw it when you don't have to then you won't be able to throw it when you do. i.e. Brandon Harris early last season. Harris had single digit pass completions in a lot of their early games. Why? Miles didn't know how to develop a QB. Now they are doing it at Auburn. White had 6 pass completions yesterday. Auburn people will say he didn't need to. And of course yesterday he didn't but later on he will need to and he won't know how. I bet he throws 3 Int's against us.
