Arkansas fans were right. Chaney sucks. I can't defend an offensive mind who leads a team to score only 1 total touchdown on Vanderbilt.

Who is on LSU's radar? Other than Herman, doesn't seem like there are a lot of proven hot commodities out there right now.

I still can't believe people are blaming Chaney. Over 400 yards, yet it's Chaneys fault people can't block or score.

Arkansas put up yards under him, so don't think the actual yard output was the reason we hated him.
His issues were just totally abandoning the run when it was working and getting pass happy. Running stupid TE end arounds on the goal line. Using personnel that didn't make sense. Those yards just did not equate to points. Rutgers in 2013 is a prime example of this. Arkansas had jumped out to a pretty good lead, but in the second half he forgot what was working.
It is like Chaney would be living in his own little world and he was the only one panicking. Once he had a three and out running the ball, the next possessions he would stick to passing and nothing else. Or, hold the hot RB out of the game for some odd reason.

My issue with him this year has been toss sweeps to the boundary. I guess I understand that with a back who has great vision and can find a seam like Gurley could, but when you have a guy like Michel and Herrien who have excellent speed and wiggle, let them get out in space and make shite happen. Running into the boundary just gives the defense an extra defender in the sideline.
Also, the 4th and 1 play was idiotic. I could have understood if they faked the FB dive with Chubb and then pitched to Mackenzie, but blocking in space is not easy and Chubb has very little experience at it. Should have had Christian Payne in there and run with Michel or Chubb, not your smallest player.

I don't think Chaney is some offensive wizard or anything, but honestly I think he's been fine.
We have a freshman QB, a bad OL, and are limited at WR. Chaney is just a very standard pro-style play caller.
Firing him would be a mistake imo. Need stability at OC with a defensive-minded HC and a QB headed into year 2.
