Is the SECCG being pushed back a week a thing that could end up happening?

Well, the bowls are picked that following Sunday/Monday, no? Would need the NCAA to get clearance if they wanted to move the SECCG back I would imagine.

It's up to Florida.

Don't worry about it.

I seriously doubt it, the SECCG is a huge event with many events leading up to it throughout the week. It would be a logistical nightmare to reschedule it this late. Plus is the Georgia Dome even available the following weekend?

No. Too huge of an event plus the playoff committee would have to delay their decisions

The College Football Playoff committee selection weekend is Friday-Sunday, December 2-4, 2016. LINK

So, no, the SECCG can not be pushed back a week, unless the committee agrees to push back their selection dates.

Is this a joke? No. Neither team will factor in to the title game. Why are people acting like this game matters.

Doesn't matter, neither will be in the hunt by then.

Florida's still chickenshit about it because 2001 gives you PTSD?

Well I hope not. It would frick up the playoff/bowl selecions, and it would rob Fournette of his Heisman shot. Remember championship Saturday is normally one week before the Heisman ceremony and is a last good chance to impress voters.

He runs for 200 yards against florida and then 250 vs tenn. While bama had waited patiently, then thry board a flight back to AL before halftime

They would have to also delay the final CFP rankings and bowl matchups a week too.

The SEC Championship will very much effect the final 4 and several bowl matchups.

Another thing, many people have booked flights and hotel rooms already, changing the date for a championship game is more difficult than a regular season game.
