In this thread I see LSU as the 9th best program all time and as a mediocre program all time. Such disparity lol.
Make up your mind, guys.

What? It's just a fact. Have you looked at Bama's program? 2011 was a great season but at what point were you or anyone at Bama'a level?
Does winning 6 in a row qualify, that was just a few years ago??

Well, I was off by one, anyway LSU won 7 of 8, in the early 2000's. And Les was also 5-7 against the mighty Tide. Not bad for a doormat!!

Auburn 8-4
State 11-1

Saban's unprecedented run at Bama
This is why it may be harder to land a guy like Herman. He'd rather line up against Saban in the playoff, not every year home and home.

He was fired because he couldn't do as well as LSU's old coach who is now dominating at their rival school. This entire thing is the result of pure anger and frustration over not winning like Bama.
The problem is there isn't another Nick Saban to be had and LSU is unlikely to hire someone who will win 80% of their games for a decade again like Les did. This is a "grass is greener in Tuscaloosa" move and it could end very badly. Just ask Tennessee.

As long as they are willing to take the risk and admit it's a risk they are adults so why not?
The problem is too many don't comprehend the risk the program just took.

I welcome it, the odds of LSU hiring a coach who will be as consistently successful as Miles are very low.
