Fresno State is an interesting opponent, I wouldn't consider them a walkover

I don't know about Texas, but I do know Bama approached Notre Dame early on after Saban came on board. Mal Moore offered a neutral site or a home and home and Notre Dame refused. Notre Dame wouldn't play Bama on neutral site and refused to travel to Tuscaloosa. I was told that they offered a home game (South Bend) and that was it.

I find it interesting they subsequently scheduled a home/home with UGA but turned Bama down.

I hate that as well, but not many teams are still doing them. Much easier to schedule a neutral site game once a year and both teams get paid for giving up a home game. Wasn't the last one the Penn State series?

Do people think Bama's AD can just call up Notre Dame or Texas and say we want a home and home and this is when it will be played? I bet anything neither Texas nor Notre Dame want a two game series with Bama at the moment. This might change in a few years when Saban leaves, but right now I doubt they are interested.

Where do people get the idea that teams are ducking Bama? If I recall correctly, it was Battle and Saban who cancelled the Michigan State home and home series not Michigan State. And Texas is scheduled to play LSU in a home and home series in a couple years. Playing LSU on the road is extremely difficult so it's not like UT is afraid of playing in tough venues. I'm sure they would be more than willing to listen if Bama approaches them with an offer. Same with Notre Dame.

Four rent a wins & the normal SEC W games that every team in the division has on its schedule. Fla. St. is legit but most schools in the conference now play a biggie OC game. UT is your cross over game that bama fans scream bama must play every yr or the college football world will collapse. Do not see the word "insane" as being applicable. That season LSU gets the SEC W teams plus UT on the road plus Fla. plus BYU, no cup cake in the normal sense of the word.

Florida State is more legit right now than Texas...and everyone projects Tennessee to be better than Florida this year. We will see of course but seems like Teneessee is closing the gap and they played us tough last year. Also, Fresno State is no cupcake and would think they are on par if not better than BYU.

Alabama's conference schedule is much harder this year.

FSU should be the best team in the country next year, though. That opener won't be fun.

I think Ole Miss's schedule this year is tougher.

A&M probably has the most bad arse schedule of any team in the country next season:

The Rose Bowl - Pasadena, CA. The best non-SEC venue.
AT&T Stadium - Arlington, TX. The best Neutral site venue.
The Swamp - Gainesville, FL. The best SEC East venue.
Tiger Stadium - Baton Rouge, LA. The second best SEC West venue.
Kyle Field - College Station, TX. The best overall SEC venue, as well as best venue in the country and our toughest opponent is there.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium - Atlanta, GA. Best Conference Championship venue.
Sugar Bowl - New Orleans, LA. Best CFP semifinal venue.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium - Atlanta, GA. It'll suck have to go twice in one year.

Unfortunately, we have to play at Vaught-Hemingway as well. Only blemish on what will be an otherwise amazing season.
