Something else you should do is come up to NWA on the pig trail. Assuming you come up I-40, if you take Hwy 23 North off of I-40. It's a great little alternate route into NWA. In fact, it got it's name by being the route of choice for Razorback fans coming up from the Southern part of the state to see the Hogs play.
Beautiful drive.

It should be noted, to folks that have never been, that campus sits directly on top of a hill. Dickson and RRS both sit on opposite sides and at the base of that hill. That walk from Dickson to RRS is scenic and definitely doable but by no means flat so definitely budget time as needed.
Very good point! Budget time to walk!
If you're going to to hit Dickson after the game, park down Dickson, and walk to the stadium. You'll definitely get an appreciation for the cardio a typical student puts in on a typical day around campus.
Otherwise, I used to park at Harps (I think it's still there) if I was leaving campus, and that little extra walk paid dividends in traffic after the game.
We used to go down into the caves at Devil's Den. Even though it's November, the temperature will be around 65/70 degrees. If you're into that, it's a good time. The trees typically change in October, so you'll likely miss that.
There is plenty of fine dining, and Crystal Bridges. I would make time for the Catfish Hole, and have the hush puppies. You're bound to have a good time

if I were coming to this area for the first time and I could go anywhere within a reasonable drive to go hiking, camping, etc, I would definitely drive the hour and a half or so East of Fayetteville into Newton County and explore the Upper Buffalo Wilderness area.
This
A great outfitter for the Buffalo area

I think most things to do has been covered. I personally would hit Dickson Friday night for a good dinner at Theo's, Doe's, or Grillehouse. Entertain some bars after that then head in to not be super hungover for game day when the tailgating should be prime. Even Dickson before games can be fun at Ferrell's or Grubb's. I highly recommend Crystal Bridges on Sunday if the weather isn't nice enough to do anything outdoors. I also highly recommend skipping any time in Fort Smith as others have pointed out its dullness. Enjoy your trip.
Also, if micro brewery stuff is your thing there are close to ten in the area...maybe more.

I would agree that I'd rather be in Fayetteville the night before a game as opposed to Fort Smith aka Fort Fresh, but there's entirely too much hate on here. Folks need to book their tour now!

And I agree the walk from Dickson Street across campus to RRS isn't as easy as it used to be. I just have to go a little bit slower.

It's still painless, if you're drunk enough.

There would be no drinking for this boy prior to the walk. I'd make it about as far as Old Main and would probably have to take a nap on the grass under one of the trees there.

Lots of good advice. I'll just reiterate to bring a bike if you're into mountain biking. The trails here are seriously amazing.

I went in 2008. Fayetteville is a pretty town and the fans are fun. I'll be going again this year as well.

Even just the paved/cycling trails in Fayetteville are amazing.
Fayetteville city proper has 40 miles (with more under construction) of paved bike path/walking trail (not including 26 miles of unpaved biking/hiking paths, and not including the street bike lanes).
By comparison, Austin has 30 miles worth of bike trails.
Bentonville has 20 miles of their own.
