9 wins keeps Sumlin around.

My expectations just went up after seeing UT lay an egg

Do you think there is any truth to the rib injury rumor?
And who would have thought their oline would be so horrible, our d is going to do very well

Their fans have a rumor that Dobbs or Dodds or whatever that eyebrowless wonder's name is has broken ribs.
Of course, they also have a theory that "App State was cheating" so take anything they say with a grain of salt.

9-4 with a bowl?
Or 9-3 regular season?
I would say 9-4 with a bowl and he stays. 8-5 is 50/50. Anything less and he gone.

9-3 regular season and he stays is how I see it so far as what Sumlin has to accomplish.
I don't think a bowl win over Southwest Nevada State University really means much at all to the big money booster OR the average fan. So I don't think 9 wins AFTER the bowl is the measuring stick. In the old world we lived in where you could be 9 wins with the 9th coming in the Cotton Bowl against a legit program, yes. But in the SEC an 8 win team goes to one of the numerous Gross Florida Town bowls or the Music City or something crap like that to play a second-rate program, so that 9th win, if it comes from a bowl, means nothing.
The PRESIDENT of the University has already gone on record as saying we need to improve from being an 8-win type of program.

Sumlin is not going to be fired if he goes 9-4 (including a bowl), unless he has another 59-0, or something similar.
But I'm thinking 10-3 this season, so hopefully the statement above is not put to the test.

Do you guys still think Stoops is some type of mad genius?

Do you think Sumlin is anywhere close to Stoops's level?

Chill is already on record believing that Sumlin is on Saban's level.

No
I would agree with giving 7 mil to land Saban or stoops

He's been head coach at OU for 17 years. He's 179–47. He DOES tend to occasionally lay eggs, but overall he's one of the all-time greats.
Sumlin will be gone from here after this season or the next and will not get a head job on this level again. He'll go down as a pretty good head coach who failed because he let the inmates run the asylum and wasn't hands-on enough.

Now you are desperate and just making things up.
Nobody is on Saban's level as a tactician...not coach. He just paid Sarkisian to steal USC offensive and defensive keys, so he could nearly shut them out in Arlington and pays him above board as an assistant. If Saban can't out scheme you, he is going to outspend you.

Serious question, do you wear a tinfoil hat all day?
Posted on 9/5/16 at 11:29 am to DBU
No, but your are an idiot. Saban has brought in special assistants from opposing teams and added them to his roster almost every year since he has been in the SEC. That is why he has the largest staff in the NCAA dumbass.

Chill,
I think we all wonder at times if you wear a tin foil hat. Just as we all wonder if when Roger stubs his toe, if he deems it a sign Sumlin will be fired this week.
DBU is clearly poking fun. Grow thicker skin or be less flamboyant with your opinions if you can't take a little ribbing.
Either way, this sort of ad hominem is uncalled for and unwanted on this board.

Yeah right
Nick Saban: My NFL team stole signals, but Alabama doesn't...
Tyler Siskey contraversy...
If Tyler Siskey had an impact on No. 1 Alabama shutting out No. 24 Ole Miss 25-0 on Saturday, it was because of the insight he provided during the offseason and not during the actual game, according to Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban, who responded to the possibility that his director of player personnel was stealing signs.
Nick Saban: Staffer was not coaching
Nick Saban with the Dolphins
Dolphins Stealing Pats Signals
This is just a quick search from the internet.

I know you've been taking a break but just FYI, certain posters have been attacking Chill rather aggressively lately, that is why I believe he is defensive.
Posted on 9/5/16 at 11:54 am to Old Sarge
Then he should quit taking himself so seriously.as this sort of thing is out of bounds.
And just an FYI, there are 16 open RAs on our board right now. 10 of them are of posts by Chill. No other poster has more than 1. It's a little excessive
