You really think having one year in a system where he is already behind is better for him than starting in a system he already knows and plays every game for most of the snaps.
For some reason, I get the feeling that he won't have too much trouble learning Kirby Smart's system. Now don't ask me why I have that feeling, but I can usually sense these things.

Saban just let the guy go because the whole thing was more trouble than it was worth to him. Right move.

I believe he was slated for about 60% of our defensive schemes. Does not necessarily mean he was a 'starter.' Underclass men had passed him by last year.

The fact that people have an issue with this is insane.
You mean all 14 members of the SEC and league office are insane?

Well he obviously thinks it is a better situation for him, which is all that matters.

I definitely think this had more to do with Saban not wanting Smith (or anyone else) to be able to follow Kirby
I think its more Saban wanted him at Bama. Which is kind of evident based upon what we have seen and heard in the media.
Saban molded this guy for 3 years and now he was to be part of the cog of the Saban machine.

If you're playing more than half the snaps, does it really matter if you were in on the first play?

Do you know if Jeremy Johnson has graduated?
Maybe he can come to Bama win that Heisman and National Title he was supposed to win last season!

No, just wanted to argue with the LSU guy. Being a starter seemed to be important to his agenda.

So, are you going to quit deflecting and answer the question now?

Because in those cases it was not detrimental to LSU or Alabama at all. I'm older so I still believe the team is bigger than the individual.
I'm older and "what the hell are you talking about?" So, coaches can do whatever the frick they want but kids who want to do something else that have already GRADUATED are not team players?! Jesus, some people are delusional.

If you take what Saban says at face value yeah

How does this change anything. Coaches let GRADUATE STUDENTS transfer all the time. The only difference is Smith could have been a starter at Bamma and Saban being a huge dick in blocking it. Literally every school in the SEC has permitted transfers within the SEC, including Alabama. This whole thing was stupid and Saban showed his arse, again.

What question?
Why he would want to leave Nick's Defense.
And the answer is, he felt more familiar and comfortable with Smart's scheme going forward coupled with a potential of lack of playing time(its wasnt looking as much when this all started)

Lol
Idc that Smith went to UGA I just don't like all the pissing and moaning to get his way.

It seems like he and his family have been butthurt since last year. Anything short of starting at one of the corners was not going to be good enough.
It'll be interesting to see if he accomplishes at UGA what he clearly feels he couldn't at Bama.
