Georgia and Mizzou are very similar schools, but how da frick did LSU jump above Mizzou and Georgia, two vastly better schools than LSU?

They did it just to piss you off. You thought your trolling would have no consequences? It was just a lark and everybody would go away unharmed?

How does this cold dash of brutal reality feel now, bitch?

I'd also put LSU behind Georgia but why do you consider these ranking bullshite? Is it because, unlike USNWR, these rankings seem to base more emphasis on the university's output(s) and not their input(s) (acceptance rate, etc)?

Well, I know AU had at least one biggie in this category :)

That seems like dubious criteria at best. 99.99% of students at most schools aren't going to become CEOs of the world's top companies.

Agreed. Seems to be a HUGE % for something that is just as political a position as a testament to academic success.

Also - what defines the "world's top companies"?

Kind why this list is high subjective. more so than others. And its highly limited to the amount of research put into it on the other categories, like publications, citations, research journals, etc..

The point is that LSU is a better school than UGA

True. You could have the greatest criteria, the best things to look for - but I could take the same criteria, changing the weighting for each, and suddenly the list shifts around by leaps and bounds.

Still think the "CEO" bit is a tad absurd. Scientists and engineers are almost never CEOs; yet I would imagine that if you compared salaries of everyone with an MBA to everyone with a Masters in Aerospace Engineering, the second group is going to be well ahead of the first.

Is bullshite because no one in their right mind would put UF ahead of Vandy, or LSU ahead of UGA. Absolutely no one.

Also, it doesn't differentiate in terms of career. For instance, do you think Mizzou is eager to claim Ken Lay by name? I'm sure they're happy to have him in the non-itemized stats, but they're not rushing to add his mug to their promotional materials.
