You said they were undefeated on the road, they weren't. They had a pretty favorable schedule getting Maryland, Indiana, and Minnesota on the road, none really particularly challenging.

Okie State? Did you watch the Sugar Bowl?

It is amazing the prestige that Alabama has now. Nobody has any idea who their starting qb will be, lost their heisman winning RB, 2 beast D lineman, their all star LB Ragland and everybody still has Alabama a top 3 team. That just shows how great of a coach Nick Saban is. LSU wouldn't even be in the top 25 if they lost that much.

Apologies. I meant to say undefeated in conference play on the road. Again, for a first year coach, this is very impressive. The last time they went undefeated in conference play on the road they won the national championship.
And yeah, the schedule was favorable, I suppose. But that game at Minnesota was no gimmie. Minnesota also took TCU to the wire early in the season (I had picked Minnesota to win that game so I remember watching them with great interest...good team). But they also went to Maryland and Penn State.
Anyways, point being, Michigan had a remarkable season last year, and I expect them to be even better this year. May spell trouble for the rest of the Big10, but we'll have to wait and see.
I think there will be a Big10 in the playoffs this year, and it could very well be Michigan. It will most likely be Ohio State, but Michigan and Michigan State will also be laying a considerable claim.

I like your top six in some order but FSU is in top 5 and LSU will not be top 10 in the end.

Not sure what your opinion has anything to do with a preseason top 10.

Why not? I mean, a couple of Ut guys put Tennessee in the top 6.

I think LSU has to go in the top 10...for now.
They will probably go into the Alabama game undefeated, or with one loss, and then they will promptly lose 2 or 3 in a row and fall out of the rankings all together...sorta like last year.
But for now if you look at their roster you gotta have them favored more often than not next season and until they prove to be a collective of fu(kups yet again, they gotta be in there.

the B1G might not have a playoff team this season (might given the PAC 12 winner will probably have multiple losses and I don't think the committee will want 2 teams from the same conference). I think OSU have the best shot, but I think they'll drop the Oklahoma game. I think MSU loses to ND and OSU, and Mich. will drop the MSU and OSU games.

Yes. I wouldn't put them in the top 10 but right about the 12-13 mark.

The SEC may not have a playoff team
I don't think the winner of SEC is unbeaten and if there is any chance to leave out they will. If an upset happens in SECCG it's over.
OU will be 1 if they beat Coog High (which they should easily) and tOSU.
PAC 12 will depend on the North
Notre Dame has a name and favorable schedule
Winner of the ACC will be in as the favorites don't play ND this year.

A 1 loss SEC team makes it regardless. Winner of the PAC will probably have multiple losses given what Stanford has lost and how inconsistent the rest are. B1G has a real shot of having a 2 loss champ as well since OSU gets Oklahoma on the road and MSU has ND. And if OSU beat Oklahoma, the Big XII champ probably has 2 losses. ACC champ should have no more than one loss. Think this will be the season a 2 loss conference champ makes it into the CFP.

About as relevant as what we saw happen to Ole Miss the previous year in the Peach Bowl.

I don't think the SEC will make it because
Notre Dame
They'll have 1 loss at most. The B1G will end up being a playin game. The ACC winner goes in. So now it's the PAC or SEC. And lately if the SEC keeps beating each other they'll fall. The SEC isn't all that and dominant like it was 4 years ago.
My pick for CFP
OU
Notre Dame
Winner of B1G
Winner of ACC

Alabama could screw the entire SEC by losing to USC and Arkansas, and going on to win the SEC.
In that scenario, the SEC is left out of the playoffs.

That's plain paranoid. The SEC gets the benefit of the doubt given our record and the strength of the conference. We have multiple teams that should be playoff quality even if they deliver losses to one another. Excluding the SEC champion barring a complete meltdown of the conference would be an enormous controversy and threaten the legitimacy of the playoffs.

Alabama will beat USC by 2 TDs.
