Yea, for me.

Once you learn it, metric is a FAR easier system.

The only units I stumble with are pressure and temperature. Even with temp, it just takes a little time, though.

Full disclosure: I have an engineering degree (which requires fluency in both systems) and have lived and traveled overseas quite a bit, so my experience will not be typical.

Yes for length measurement -much better than fractions of an inch. Yes for weight. Yes for scientific temperature measurement, nay for weather temperature measurement -nice that 100 F feels hot.

I don't really consider Celsius as a metric system sub, but yes to all.

Yes definitely. Also an engineer. Imperial is awful, especially for scaling. A mile is 1,760 yards, a yard is 3 feet, a foot is 12 inches. These numbers are clunky and difficult to convert and would have an adverse effect on young children picking them up from the world around them. Metric is far easier to learn and implement at a young age, and a solid foundation and early confidence are everything in math.

Science and healthcare have long since abandoned that clunky holdover from a bygone era. Time for the rest of us to follow suit.

The only non-metric nations are Liberia, Thailand and the U.S. We are using the metric system whether or not we want to for international trade.

It's an easy system to learn and I'm glad it's taught in our schools. After the older generation dies out in about 20 years, a switchover will be remarkably smooth. Miles, instead of kilometers may persist as a road distance measure as it has in Britain but everything else is already mixed.

The only change I wouldn't like is in temperature measurement, at least outside the lab. 90° F, the high for today in Lexington, seems much hotter than does 32°C.

Well, good luck trying to Kelvin adopted as the lingua franca.

I've no problem with temperature. But megapascals and kilopascals can kiss my big old butt. PSI for the win.

Metric.

152.4 mm sounds much more impressive than 6 inches.
