Does Alabama resort to more zone read this year?

You could tell Jake Coker was not fit to run the offense. Lane is loading up on dual threat QBs lately (Tua Tagavoiloa, Blake Barnett etc.) and all signs point to a QB with speed and athleticism. But it begs the question.....does that mean more Auburn-ish plays? Or is it the same, what I like to call, spread smash that Alabama ran this past year?

Auburn runs a power spread offense that gets vertical with the pass.
Alabama runs the jet sweep, read option, reverses, etc, just like Auburn already.

I don't think so. It's just out of the realm of what we do. This plus it just doesn't seem like Kiffin or Saban's style.

Auburn has a methodical offense with good options. With Alabama's players, it could be unstoppable.

Bama will never run an Auburn type offense. Remember that Nick says the risk of injury is too great and it is dangerous for the players.

Triple option with Ardarius Stewart (high school QB) running the show. Prepare thy angus

A ton of schools run some version of the read option and if Bama has some decent dual threat QBs it would be stupid to not show it a few times a game at least.

I think it is more likely the OP is not fit to evaluate offenses.

Inevitable. We won't look like Tennessee though.

I'd put Reuben Foster at fullback and Scarbrough at tail back and run it right off Cam Robinson's arse every snap.

Lane has trended towards Malzahn style of play calling. Lane has better conceived pass plays than Malzahn though.
But to answer your question. Of course he is going to go more option read with the QBs he is getting.
Bama doing the Auburn gimmick offense. Right?

I hope we insert more read option to replace the pitch-to-the-WR-in-motion plays, which absolutely NEVER work.

I hope we have a guy that makes plays with his arm. If we can't feed this group of receivers then the offense will never reach its potential.

We barely did any zone read when blake sims was qb, and he was the most suited to that style of any qb we have had. The vast majority of his running was from scrambling on blown plays. It would be silly not to run a few of those pays each game with the guys we have, just to give defenses something else to think about, but it's not going to be a big part of our offense. Saban doesn't like the qb getting hit every play. Plus with our crazy receiving options i think they will be the focus of the offense this year

Kiffin would be set afire on Hackberry lane at high noon

Bama doesn't have the players to run Auburn's offense. Auburn had last year's preseason Heisman favorite. What about Alabama??
