That's a pretty nice poster, but it only begins to explain the story of what it represents. Way back in the 60s, the first African-American football players in the Southeastern Conference were former football Wildcats Nate Northington, Greg Page, Wilbur Hackett and Houston Hogg. Northington became the first black player to play in an SEC vs SEC contest on Sept. 30, 1967. The 2016 season will mark the 50-year anniversary of Northington and Page enrolling at UK in 1966. Now five decades later, Wilbur and Nate met with the team to talk about the battles they faced while helping show off the new posters, which honor the four players who integrated SEC football.

Also for those who are unaware, Greg Page enrolled with UK in 1966 but died due to a freak accident in practice leading up to the game in which they would integrate. The LHL article has a great read about what happened and the effect it had on his teammates.

Pretty cool.
I talk shite about Kentucky... because they're Kentucky but there should be a 30 for 30 about this.

It's four current players wearing the integrated player's jerseys. They're also posing in the same position as the statue that will be unveiled in September that honors the four that integrated.

Do we really need this stuff? These are things that keep America from moving forward. It drudges up bad memories and rekindles anger in some.
It's great that the conference was integrated. I'm sure it's also been noted and discussed before how it came about. Probably many, many times so haven't we covered this stuff enough?

Only as tight end.
I guess unity means no whites?

Honoring positive events doesn't really cause anger if you ask me.

September 11th is a bad memory that makes me very angry to think about, should we stop commemorating it?
Props to Kentucky, this is cool.

What? It is a positive thing. It is uniting the football team and the story needs to be told.
And yes, they are making a movie. An academy award director is doing the movie to get the story told.

Saw this one the news this morning. UK doesn't get enough credit for being a leader in integration in the SEC.

Might want to think this one through a bit more.

Actually it hasn't been discussed all that much, it's the 50 year anniversary, and there's been nothing but positive feedback in honoring these guys.

Kentucky takes its contributions to football where it can. Let them have this.

What are ole misses contributions to football again? Oh yeah you resisted integration to the point the university was shamed into changing their slave driving mascot.
