Anybody see this kid play? From the description, even at his size, he seems like more of a shooter than a post presence.
He only averaged ~11ppg so he can't be that great. At 6'10 playing in Lee Scott's small classification, he should have averaged a ton more
Wouldn't be shocked if he saw minutes. Foul trouble inside is an easy way for a 6'10 kid to get on the floor

This is from Stephen Hooks in regards to if we are done for 2016. For those that don't know him he is one of if not our biggest basketball boosters and very close to the coaching staff.

Lebron decided to go to college since he can't win in the finals? NCAA gave waiver for eligibility since they love Bruce so much?

ANy idea of when this big surprise will be announced?
Posted on 6/6/16 at 9:13 am to GenesChin
Not a clue. I don't even know anybody that is still available that would qualify as a big surprise unless someone from 2017 is trying to reclassify to 2016.

I just checked 247 composite. There are still a small handful of uncommitted players. Saw that Thon Maker was one of those. He would definitely qualify as a big surprise but I doubt it was him being referenced. I've never heard his name remotely mentioned with auburn. There was another that I had heard mentioned with auburn back before the early signing period though.

From Ryan Black's bball update. Here's who visited
- Apparently Mitchell & Okeke are buddies but apparently Okeke doesn't let anyone really know what he is thinking. He hasn't told Mitchell anything about where he stands and apparently he doesn't even own a phone.
- Moore says we would be in his top 5 after visit. Guy is being recruited by everyone
- Wood 1A Player of the Year in AL last season and will probably get rated soon by 247. Nothing on really where he stands in his recruitment
- Jones is going into his sophomore year of high school so he's only just forming a list but says AU is one of his favorites

Davion Mitchell: Class of 2017, 4-star point guard per 247Sports Composite (ranked No. 35 nationally), COMMITTED TO AUBURN
Chuma Okeke: Class of 2017, 4-star small forward per 247Sports Composite (ranked No. 53 nationally)
Khavon Moore: Class of 2018, 5-star small forward per 247Sports Composite (ranked No. 12 nationally)
Diante Wood: Class of 2018, small forward (not yet rated by 247Sports)
Jared Jones: Class of 2019, forward (not yet rated by 247Sports)

Does anyone know if any of our 2016 guys on campus taking summer classes right now?

Austin Wiley made the US National U-17 team.
2017-18 can't get here quick enough

Auburn has the top rated basketball class according to Scout. Isn't Scout pretty good with their basketball coverage?

We're #2 on 247 but it's way too early to pay attention to class rankings, especially for basketball.
Wiley just happens to be the only 5* commited anywhere at this point (according to 247 rankings)
The class we just signed was top 10 for a long time but finished #25 (which is still awesome for only signing 3 guys). So where we are now doesn't have much bearing. Looking at 247, Creighton is #4 with two 4 stars and an unranked guy. Arkansas is #5 one 4 star and one 3 star
To answer your question, idk how good scout is at basketball. I consider them the worst major service for football so I just kind of figured they sucked for basketball too. Just looked at their site and it's so shitty and hard to navigate I imagine they suck at evaluating too. Just stick with 247, their composite rankings make them the best.

I think ESPN and Scout do the best job with the elite players. None of the 4 recruiting sites have enough analysts to cover anywhere near all the rest though.

Do you know if all the guys from our 2016 class are on campus?

I know McLemore and Harper are here along with the Smith the grad transfer. Johnson the other grad transfer arrives late this week. I haven't heard anything about Heron one way or the other but I'll check and see what I can find out.

Heron is here and practicing too so looks like they are all going to be good to go.
