Looks like he did this season to the OVC what Kessler did to the SEC. Wonder how he would translate. I only saw him against us.

He looks like a physical specimen down low but had 21 2pa against Xavier and not a single FT attempt?
Looking at the game log he is a volume scorer kind of guy.

He also had the 3rd most blocks in the country. He’s insanely talented.

I’m glad I never thought Kessler was as coming back. He’s a first round pick. Why come back? You can work on your jumper much more then the limited time they have to practice at the arena. Plus no school or classes to attend.

So are Broome and Murray the guys Jlee is talking about?
Posted on 4/4/22 at 1:15 pm to Scoper
So if we go after Broome that means Traore at 4.
1. Greene/ Zep/ Donaldson
2. KD/ Zep
3. ?, Flanigan
4. Traore/ Jaylin
5. Broome/ Cardwell
That is some insane depth

I have a strong feeling Jaylin Williams will transfer if Bruce can’t guarantee him a starting position.
Do we have any intel to suggest Broome has interest in Auburn?

I think Stevenson canceling his visit to Auburn is telling, but we will wait and see.
I also don’t think it’s any coincidence that Broome entered the portal a day after Kessler elected to go pro.

I kinda feel bad for Williams but Traore did rattle off the list of 4s Pearl put into the league. We are after a 5 no doubt.
Williams played well against Miami. He would either provide incredible
Depth for us or deservedly go play for another P5. I wonder if he could play the 3.

quote:Westry would be your question mark. I think Jaylin would start over Traore too. I know most people think a 5* freshman coming off the bench is crazy, but its been done plenty of times and with the way we rotate it won't be a big deal.

For the record though.. You can't say your outlook on Kessler is dim while also talking up Timme lol. Timme is a good college player, but he won't even be on an NBA roster.

I agree with your whole post including this. Timme won’t go pro but he has the moves like Jagger. I’m just saying Kessler doesn’t have that kind of skillset either.. To be honest I think he is pretty soft on that end.

All Kessler has to do is end up in the right situation.. For instance, if he ended up on the Hawks all he would need on the offensive end is being able to run the pick and roll and catch lobs.. both of which he can already do. If he gets on a team that tries to turn him into a back to the basket C then its probably not going to work.

Sometimes it does boil down to some luck here and there.
Hell some here are unlucky that I don’t see things like they do. They think I’m loud and wrong and constantly whine about it.
Lowspark said Kessler and his whomping career 57% FT percentage shoots FTs “well.”
But here I am, loud and wrong.

It is a head scratcher about Kessler FTs %.
I could have sworn he was hitting his FTs at a high % early in the season and into SEC action. I can remember saying as he shot them, “Dang he’s got really good form for big guy” and it seemed like he was one of our better ones.
Then (I could be wrong) around the game he landed on that shoulder he was never the same at the line.
I wish there was a way to know his first half vs 2nd half stats.

Anybody saying that Kessler is polished on the O end is lying to themselves. He has a lot of work to do on that end of the floor. I haven't seen anybody say he can't improve..............but the bottom line he needs to improve drastically to play in that league.
I think we are all pulling for him. He seems like a good kid.

You're not wrong. I think it was the Arky loss where he really started struggling. I remember before that he was something like 85% in SEC play.
