Most of us look at those top 2 to 3 (The Ivy league ones plus UC Davis) and then consider all the rest to be about the same with some strengths in certain areas.

A&M is top 3 in multiple rankings. That IMO and in the opinion of most people is elite.

I don't think you understand

Keep telling everyone how elite aTm is - I'm sure it will catch on.

I actually had no idea that any Ivy Leagues school had a vet school.

There are a good many A&M's... Most of them are HBCUs correct? I don't see how a school with "A&M" can be considered 'elite' by any stretch.

Vandy
A&M
Arkansas
UGA
South Carolina
UF

Probably in that order. I didn't apply to any SEC schools besides A&M and Vandy though and didn't get in to Vandy obviously. I know you can get in state tuition at Arkansas coming out of Texas plus it has a solid business school and Fayetteville seems cool, so I could see myself considering that.

Weird thread. I can see someone ranking the schools in a conference. And this being the SEC, I can see that being an SEC school.

But I couldn't see why someone who wanted to go to a specific school and didn't get in would want to limit their second choice to the same conference.

The point of this thread is what SEC schools you would go to.

I listed 3 because those were the only three out of the group I would even consider.

Depends on what career you want to pursue. If you want to do medical research, Vandy is your best bet. If you want to be a fashion designer, you'll probably want to go with A&M

Agree 100%. I graduated from LSU nursing and can a job anywhere, but if I graduated with a business degree it would be a different story.

Excluding God's favorite school:

1. A&M - love the traditions and the academics
2. Vandy - Excellent school, great city
3. UGA - Athens and hot women...'nuff said
4. South Cackalacky - Always had fun in Columbia
5. UT - Love that Tennessee river and proximity to mountains
6. UF - Great academics. Too many yankees, but....
7. Ole Miss - Hawt co-eds. Easy classes. Slackers heaven.
8. LSU -Strange folk them cajuns...but fun, and the food!
9. UK - Don't really know much about UK I'm neutral.
10. Arky - I've been to Arky once. it was enough
11 Miss. State - Nice people but Starkville is a pit
12. Bama - Plentiful coke and heroin if I just wanna say "eff it"
13. Mizzou - Capitulation U. "The angry gingers" should be their mascot and they should never have been invited to the SEC.

heroin

I do not ever remember seeing or hearing about a single person doing heroin in my undergrad and graduate years at Alabama. If they did, it was deeply deeply hidden.
