I think his over all record was something like 56-44

Meanwhile KA comes back with a 19-44 record.

I know many will disagree, but I did see progress in year 2. Obviously not close to where we should be, but I saw a better team. Not to mention, the best players were freshman and sophomores. And yes, I realize that's the majority of the roster but it still bodes well for further improvement.

This teams problem was exactly the same in probably 12-15 games. One terrible stretch of play, usually to start the game, that buried them and they couldn't pull out. That's something that can be attributed to youth. Lack of consistency or inability to play a full game.

The team's best players are all a year older and wiser next year. Puryear, Phillips and Walton all had promising freshman years. Wright looked pretty good most times and Gant had his moments as well. That's a good core if they all take a step forward. Get some contributions from the newcomers and learn to play a 40 min game and a pretty big step forward is definitely possible. IMO anyway

OR they suck again and we hire someone else with the NCAA stuff hopefully behind us.

Holy shite man, just wow.

The blindness encompasses the entire university apparently and not just football as we had previously thought.

Look opinions are like assholes and I have mine. I've seen progress with these guys.

Let's what if:

IF we hadn't brought KA back then any coach coming in would think he only has 2 yrs to make significant strides or he's out which puts the coach on the defensive.

IF KA can't show significant progress in the won-loss column this year then more than likely he's gone so any incoming coach believes he has 3 yrs which should be enough considering KA has already turned the corner on the shittiest obstacles within the program.

Turnover this offseason will dictate how successful or unsuccessful we are next year. I believe KA is a good coach but to get us where we need to be he had to "burn it down". Now if it turns out he isn't a good coach, then disregard this post.

And that's why Frank Haith, IMO, built the roster the way he did. But let's ignore that.

Maybe....or maybe Frank was just a shitty coach and didn't know how to actually build a program. Doesn't matter now though.

Yea Haith knew he wasn't a popular choice and built his roster hoping to get that second contract.
And really if Dixon doesn't get into trouble his second team would also have won right at 30 games.

Had that happen he would have gotten the second contract and we would be having teams that win right around 20 games a season and on the bubble each year. Sounds pretty good right now.

Change that to Kim and fast forward 12 months and we'll have a bingo.

It's just as sad Alden couldn't find anyone better than Haith 1.0 back in 2011.

He could have, but he panicked when Painter turned him down. So he went to someone that he knew would say yes to him.

It was kinda like getting turned down by the 7.5 chick at the bar and you go home with the 2.5 drunk one because you knew she'd say yes

He inherited a SLU team that was probably the best they've ever had. That team unfortunately ran into the wrong teams in the tourney.

Why can't we go after Bruce Pearl? He is a good recruiter and above average coach. With him we probably could land Porter. Why are we keeping KA? He can't recruit at this level.
