Goodbye Porter, have fun at KU. Gave said MR couldn't find anyone to take the job, considering the NCAA sanctions, APR, and piss poor roster. Basketball is a dumpster fire.

I'm with ADMR. He'll get us to the glory land. But it won't be easy.

Okay, now bbq me for supporting.

Well, looks like another year where I get more done around the house. I will not be watching.

I don't think ADMR thinks he'll get us anywhere, more that he couldn't find a replacement he wanted so we're stuck with him for another year before we can fire him. I still feel he needs to make the tournament in year 3 or he should go, that's always been my opinion since we first hired him.

Just curious, why do you think he'll lead us to glory when he's struggled so far?

How has he struggled with so far? He has the worst AD Job in the world and he hasn't been on the job 18 months?

Sadly, I see no players (current or in-coming) that make me think year 3 will be much different than the last 2. That said, keeping KA one more year may be a longer-term benefit.

After next season, a new prospective coach may have a wee-bit better team than this year and will have seen we give a guy an honest chance to turn things around. Who could argue that KA wasn't given a reasonable amount of time to right the ship?

I'd be willing to bet that ADMR didn't simply tell KA that we "need to see improvement" next year. He was given a number and/or a tourney bid to keep his job. I don't think 15 wins will do it...with the possible exception of us knocking off several top-rated teams and having a half-dozen 4-star recruits signed up.

In 13 months, we'll have a good coach, one way or another.

Post season or see ya next year. I'm tired of adjusting expectations down each year. I said post season by year 3 when he was hired was reasonable. Sticking with it.

Good I'm glad he's coming back but this is his make or break year.

I'm not happy about KA's job performance, but there is little doubt that firing him would continue to do more damage. Take another year of garbage, then we are in a much better spot to get someone knowing they will get 3 years no matter what instead of just 1 or 2...even in a bad situation.

Edit: unless you have a top notch talent on the hook, which we don't.

Brilliant strategy by Kim and one I did not foresee.

Make the job and team so shitty, no one else wants it.

Mission accomplished.

In 13 months we will have a new coach not necessarily a good one. See the last four hires.

We will have one or two open scholarships.

If we have more than that, we won't have enough wins to keep him. Kim sucks arse and has cratered the program.

Bassman: Look on the bright side for a change. With a couple months of hunting, I'd bet Mack could find a real good juco assistant who would kill for the job.

I'm not convinced Mack can get anyone to come here for any sport.

Sadly most expected this.

Expecting another 10-22 season, or close to it. Talent level is a joke.

Expecting more talk about KenPom, and all of it's irrelevancy.

Expecting more excuses to bring back KA yet another year.

Anyone who thinks KA can take us to the promise land. Please put down the bong.

Next year will be entirely KAs team/recruits/system. No excuses next year. He needs to make a significant jump. I would term that as 16-17 wins and a top 100 KenPom ranking.

Jesus. 16 wins is acceptable now.

We're going to get 9 games of Savannah State to start the year. And then close our eyes, cross our fingers and hope.

If 16 wins is progress toward 20+ the following year then yes.

Everyone that is expected to play next year will be back the following season. That should be the breakout season.
