For their open DB spot.

I have mixed feelings on this...probably a better recruiter than developer
We need his Texas ties
If he gone, we need a big hire here IMO

He was Whaleys lead recruiter. So if he leaves then we would have lost the two coaches responsible for getting him here. That definitely sucks for the kid.
On a side note, it's interesting that UGA and Texas have both been trying to raid our staff. UGA with Enos and Pittman and Texas with Jennings and Singleton.

This is the Catch-22 with coaching staffs. If you have a strong staff then the chance of them getting offers are higher. We have to remember that this is a business and loyalty wont trump money and advancement.
We never had to worry about losing assistants during the Nutt tenure because no one wanted anything to do with those bozo's.
I hope that we keep Jennings for his Texas ties but if he goes elsewhere then CBB needs to bring in someone better......sounds easy doesn't it.

is this something you believe, or are you just getting it out of the way since that is invariably what follows news like this?

I'll be the first to say that it's not a huge loss either way. Our defensive numbers (particularly the DBs) have been middling at best. We need him for continuity and his recruiting, but as we've seen with every other time this situation played out, we CAN upgrade.

I just wish we could keep a group of guys together longer than a season or 2.

I highly doubt it. This guy is solid.

Our DBs were out of place and clueless last year. I don't care how good of a recruiter he is, we sucked in the secondary last year and it damn near killed our entire season.
A great recruiter is a real asset, don't get me wrong, but one who coaches one of the worst position groups in Arkansas history I can bid a not so fond farewell.
How much do we pay to Texas to take him off our hands?

This is the case with every assistant that leaves

cause the good ones either go the NFL or stay with us until death or until their buffet buddy comes calling in georgia.

Well... We all thought Jennings was a coup when we got him.
Can't say that DB has been a strong suit of our team ever since he got here. May just be because we haven't had the talent. But part of his job is to recruit the talent. Could be that he has been trying to and just hasn't had any luck.
Bottom line is, defensive backs and safeties need to show improvement. With Jennings or without him.

Smith had our DBs lined up well off the line of scrimmage for TT and A&M.
Recruit some freakin talent at safety so we can play straight up.
I don't blame Jennings for that.
Jared Collins has seen a massive improvement since that border line 2 star came to campus.
DJ Dean, injured a lot of the season so they say. Another 3 star for Jennings to wave his magic wand over to produce an SEC serviceable player.
Toliver, the only SEC rated DB coming out of H.S., was impressive as a true freshman. Could break out this year.
Jennings is not the problem of our DB performance in 2015, unless he's making the decision on our defensive alignment at the snap of the ball.
The fact that a historically major program like texas is going after him should be enough proof that he's probably someone we don't want to lose.

Charlie is on the hot seat. If Jennings fails it still looks good on a resume.
I left Arkansas for a p5 school then the hc was fired is better than I got fired at a p5 school.
