I'm not one to bury a guy in his first year, but he is in 9th place in the SEC.

I said it was a great hire at the time. I'm a big Avery fan.

I don't think anyone said it was a terrible hire.

A lot of us did not think the turnaround would be this quick

Yea it would be awesome for the other teams, an easy victory every year against Bama. Terrible, terrible game day coach. You have know idea how he would recruit either and lets not forget Bama isn't exactly easy to recruit to. I would be worried about Brad Underwood or Micheal White, but thank god the AD is too dumb to hire one of em.

Ill be the first to admit I was totally wrong about the hire. I was definitely on the fire Grant train but did not think AJ was a good choice. Hes made the most out of the talent he has now. Whether that translates to further success when Bama does get talent is another thing.

I've always liked Avery. He's doing a great job @ Alabama.

Has beaten more ranked teams this season than Grant did in his tenure here.

Any idiot that says Avery Johnson was a bad hire doesn't know anything about basketball on all levels.

Why would anyone consider Avery a bad hire?

Avery Johnson is much beloved by everyone in New Orleans, The NBA, and including Sean Payton with the New Orleans Saints, when he brought Avery Johnson in to do a rally before the playoffs and Super Bowl win.
Great hire by Alabama to bring in this outstanding coach and communicator.
He could well be the next great college basketball coach.
