Edit: looks like they did. Would be strange for a school to not check if it was the NLI or the financial aid.

If I'm this kid I would not sign an LOI. There is no need for it. Take the John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, etc. route and only sign a financial aid agreement.

Why would Tennessee report that they don't have it? Do they really want to advertise that the top JUCO is still open and recruitable?

You're also taking a risk by mentioning him if you only have financial aid papers. If he flips elsewhere, you get popped with a violation.

Eta: I do know for a fact that Kongbo's dad does not like Butch. Kongbo himself does. I think it's just a matter of time before he signs with UT.

For those asking, Tennessee can announce anyone that signs a FAA or anyone that's accepted into school (that's how they announce walk ons).
