Can a LSU fan explain what happened/didn't happen today with C Cameron?

At one point I was told it was common knowledge that he was gone, frick the recruits if they didn't tell them because they should have known he was gone because his contract was not being renewed, and then none of it was true and Fat Hanagriff made it up? WTF really happened with that fiasco?

We remembered he scored 17 points against Alabama in 2013 with 8 NFL starters on offense, and thought there was just no way we could replace that kind of production with a pathetic 1.5 mill salary to throw around. What more is there for you to understand?

The answer to your question is, Fowler is scum for leading on lsu, and Cam Cameron and LSU did nothing wrong..those teenagers ought to know better

Miles rewatched the 3rd quarter of the A&M game and decided to keep him.

Hanagriff came on just before a segment with Paul Mainieri that sources had told him that Cam Cameron would not be returning this next season. He did say he really didn"t want to expound on the story since it was NSD. But he did say the, story was out there.

After the break a Jimmy Ott asked him how strong his sources were. Hanagriff said his sources were good, but then backtracked a bit.

When asked about it Cameron said something on the effect of what kind of a coach would I be to tell the recruits I will be there for them and then walk out on them right after they sign.

Miles and LSU SID have denied any knowledge of Cameron either leaving or not having his contract renewed.

That's the Reader's Digest on the story.

Here's what I think could have happened.

Let's say I'm an irritable, disgruntled fan very frustrated with LSU losing to Alabama 5 times in a row.

I make a thread harping on about short kickoffs and how this has been "unacceptable" (that's the magic phrase, it must be "unacceptable"). I then point out that the Special Teams coach has not had his contract renewed (just an example), and I rant on about how Miles, though not fired in November, is now under a mandate to win a title or else. I then post a valid observation that the ST coach is nearing retirement age, follow with some nonsense like some other, younger ST coach has been seen in La (perhaps he's recruiting? Doesn't matter), and I then tie him into one or more of our players. I end my rant by invoking Aranda and the way that played out, and say "the old guy is out, this new guy will be announced on Monday".

Some local media, sensing the surliness of the fans, will jump on this "story" and run with it, trying to get the scoop on the rest of the media. If not one of the local talk show guys, some Advocate guy will run it.
