Our 2016 recruits had all been forewarned about this

Just finished talking with someone who has close connections with the program. All of the recruits had long been told to expect this so nothing came as surprise today to anyone.
The timing of this is highly suspect, but I think it will not have any (or at the very most, a negligible) effect on our class.
I do feel better knowing the recruits knew about this beforehand.

I agree. Hell if anything it makes the staff look even better being honest and upfront about it.

The fact that no recruits decommitted after it broke shows that they were either informed beforehand and there's nothing to the allegations, or we payin' them well

And tonight they got to hear it firsthand from the top brass.

Just a thought but has anyone thought that maybe Ole Miss "leaked" the info today on purpose via back channels just to get out in front of it before getting blindsided? I mean if I was going to drop a media bombshell I wouldn't do it Friday afternoon when all the important recruits are in my "house" for the next 2 days where I can shape the message. If I wanted to hurt Ole Miss I would have let it out Monday when the quiet period is in effect when the media will go on a feeding frenzy for a solid week...

Ole Miss had nothing to do with the release of the article.

No, but if it has to happen before NSD, today is the day it needed to. If our recruits were here last week a somewhere else this week, it would be a disaster. As bad as the timing is, we should be thankful that we waited to have our big weekend now. Hopefully it backfires on forde or whoever orchestrated this. So far, so good

So, Ross called Forde and said, "guess what I'm holding in my hand?"
Brilliant.
Brilliant.

I think it's better that it was released right before all the recruits came on the big visit. I'd rather them be in oxford this weekend than in bama or Baton Rouge getting their interpretation of the story.

CHF used it as a rallying point and the parents are it up.

I cannot believe the feeding frenzy from the Enlightened Droolers. I'm actually having a hard time getting this straight:
The NOA is for infractions in the 2008-2012 era. Basically, the Nutt/Boone Admin. And it's light on football. (even they admit this).
But, but, but there is an entire NEW investigation underway for the Freeze years. And this includes Tunsil, Rob, Paidwell, etc. And this is the REAL investigation. This is the one that includes all the inside scoop that Chris Jones brought in on his "trojan horse" visit. And the recordings from last year when Leo was wearing a wire?
And they're setting this one up so that we are on probation from NOA #1 when NOA #2 hits in about a year. And that way, it amplifies the penalties, and we get LOIC, show causes, bowl bans, etc.
So, is that pretty much the story? Or am I missing something else?

I asked my one legit source about the initial letter when it first got mentioned and he confirmed it down to the number of allegations regarding football. So yesterday I asked him about this second supposed letter and he said I don't know what you are talking about. He is going to ask around and if he comes back with nothing then I am satisfied that it's much to do about nothing.

The second letter exists only in the 34th relm of reality.
According to the Corch, the second investigation was about Tunsil. And this second investigation will produce a second letter. But, it is already confirmed that the NOA we have mentions the Tunsil matter. So, that makes no sense whatsoever.
Why send us an NOA now and then sit on other material just to send a second NOA in a year? That doesn't make sense either.
Here's the bottom line: The first letter is the only letter. This is IT. And this is all they found.
The Droolers are just making up this second letter shite in order to cover up the fact that their three year investigation into 8 years of wrongdoing nets a handful of secondaries in football; most of which happened 6 years ago under a different administration.
This thing is the biggest flop since ATPB, and there's no way the humpers can deflect the truth much longer.
And to think: They accuse us of being delusional.
