I like to think we handed Shea Patterson and Greg Little $250k inside a Louis Vitton

Ole Myth is cheating no doubt....

Maybe we just finally decided to get in the cheatin game with the big boys. Everybody does it.
Real answer, Freeze learned a lot from Coach O recruiting wise. And puts more emphasis on recruiting than anything else.

you pulled the top player out of 4 states out of the blue in 2013 after finishing 47th the year before...
Then for the next two years you finish outside the top 15 with 0 five stars and 13 four stars combined between those classes.
Freeze is not this great recruiter stacking classes at a recruiting powerhouse.
Now the 13 class you purchased is moving on to the NFL and you are opening up the checkbook again to stay relevant. Simple as that

I'm sure he gives the family/educational pitch to the players and families. Then they make their visits and get shown the "other" part of it by their hosts. Three years later, they jump out a window. Rinse and repeat.

People are dumb to think everyone who goes to Ole Miss takes the money and everyone who goes to other schools does not take the money. That statement comes from someone who is not an Ole Miss fan.
But go look at the schools in the top 10 recruiting nationally on the recruiting sites. It's like when you were a kid and you'd have to circle which one is not like the others. Everyone would be circling Ole Miss. Whether they are cheating or not, who knows.

In fairness, those other 9 don't have Rowan Oak or a Confederate cemetery. I hear those are a big draw for recruits.

I know winning championships isn't one of them.

People overrate just straight up giving money to kids. Anyone can do that, and it doesn't ensure a long term commitment.
Serious programs go much further than that. Boosters will give family members cush jobs contingent on the player signing for example. That is much harder to track, and gives a more direct control over the outcome.
I don't know about Ole Miss today, but back during the Nutt era we got a signature from a player they were targeting and it upset the player's mom so much she faxed in a forged LOI:
LINK
She publicly claimed she was "trying to what's best for him" but the word on the street was an Ole Miss booster had promised her a job contingent on her son's signature and we screwed that up.
Point is people who just think "the secret" is handfuls of money to the recruit are pretty naive themselves.

I'm glad you brought up Floyd raven. That was his signature on that paper the whole mom story was fabricated to absolve him because he knew he didn't want to be here because your boosters took care of them. The bottom line was he didn't want to be in Oxford. It's about to happen again you're going to flip one of our commits that's been committed forever and yet I don't see any Rebels bitching about A&M boosters.

One of our biggest draws over State is that we are in Oxford while ya'll get that beautiful city of Starkville to show off.
Oh and because we show them a hell of a time in recruiting trips and let them go out and party with drunk bitches. While a school like State takes them out and teaches them how to milk a cow.
